UNC-CH MSN 2018 Cycle

Published

To my knowledge, there is no thread yet for all of us UNC MSN 2018 matriculation hopefuls! I am currently finalizing my application for the RN-MSN program, specifically FNP. That personal statement was a monster to write, but I think I'm finally happy with it.

I know I'm super early to be applying, but there's got to be other people out there who are like me and super eager to get their apps in. How is it going for all you peeps?!

I live about 15 minutes away. It would have been much faster and more humane if I had been allowed to pick up the notice myself. ;-)

Oh I totally would have picked it up myself! I'm also right down 15-501 so that would be a no brainer. Alas, we wait. í ½í¸‘

So you are also a Chathamite? :-)

I am in Alamance, but I feel like we should all get together and either celebrate or have a pity party :) I feel like we have gone through something together! :D

I'm still checking this bc i want to know if y'all got in haha! still hoping for the best!!

Yep! And I get a feeling that today's the day!

Haha! We will let you know probably today! It's likely we'll get the news in the mail today, or tomorrow at the latest.

I got my letter in the mail today and I was wait listed. Better than a no, but more waiting!! Agggghhh!!

Well it might be a little bittersweet, but the way I see it...you can't be rejected anymore, as long as a spot opens up, it's all yours! Hopefully this contains at least a morsel of positivity for you, amanda9822! :)

That's a good way to look at it, thank you! I needed that :) I feel good about it, I'm just not the world's most patient person! :D

I was also put on the waitlist. I am disappointed but at least I know there is a shimmer of hope. I might apply to Duke now. Their deadline is May 1st. Couldn't hurt. Congrats to you, too, amanda9822. Waitlist is better than rejection. :-)

Also, I just spoke with the SON and she checked last year's roster for me. They did pull about 7 people off the waitlist for admission. The waitlsit is unfortuneately a large pool of applicants and all have equal weight. If a spot becomes available, they once again review the applicants on the waitlist. They are not in numerical order.
