Hello everyone! I may be a little early with this, but here's a new post for all of you hoping to apply this September 2nd for the Spring 2015 semester at UMSON. You can post questions you have, helpful advice you would like to give (if you're already in the program), etc.

I specifically have a question for those who have already applied to the Spring 2014 semester and got in. When you applied last September, when in November did you get your acceptance letter in the mail? Was it the beginning, middle, or toward the end of November? I'm asking this because the other nursing school I am applying to only gives a 3-week time period after the end of October (when they let you know if you made it in or not) to accept or decline enrollment. So, if I don't make it into UMSON, I'd want to be able to give this other nursing school an answer before the 3-week time period runs out.

@afowler77 you really are inspiring. I've been stressing simply because I still don't know where my husband will be stationed so I've been researching schools in the two cities we might go to and I'm nervous I won't be ready. After I read your post I realized that if I don't get it the first time to just keep trying and doing what I can in the mean time. Thank you! You've inspired a lot of us!

So I really don't know what to think. My decision still says committee ready and people that I know here in Maryland have already gotten their letters and status changes. I didnt want to be the person that calls about their status but I'm calling first thing in the morning. This is ridiculous. At this point I feel like I know what the decision is gonna be ?

@jennyxyz, I know waiting is painful. I have been in your position recently. Even tough it is hard, try to stay positive. As someone in this thread has said, "no news is good news for now". I called the admissions office a day before I got wait listed and they told me if there is no change in the status, the application is still being considered. I feel like it is a patience 101 course, the last prerequisite for the nursing program. GOOD LUCK!!!

My status just changed to "Wait List" :(

does anyone have the link to the website that shows all the different options for class and lab times with the numbers needed to register?

@jennyxyz- Did you call? I think, at this point, you are justified in calling!

@KayBee09- Here is the link to the "Current Students" page. You will want SURFS (different component of what we used to submit and check on our applications.) Current Students | University of Maryland School of Nursing

Thanks to everyone who said I've helped encourage them. I am so happy to help with lifting spirits, or anything else. I've had some contentious interactions with a few people lately, so your kind words helped ME!

@muldrowtl- Ack! You are performing the ultimate juggling act! That sounds like a really stressful situation to be in. You must be one tough cookie. If you ever need to unload, feel free to message me. I haven't been in your shoes, but I am happy to lend a sympathetic ear. Keep me posted on your progress!

Thanks @afowler77 but the for I was thinking of was for the Baltimore campus and it showed all the different schedule options with the course numbers and everything. I am pretty sure it was in PDF format.. it was very helpful I wish I saved it!

Thank you so much!! Its just that my friend who lives in the same area and we also turned in our applications at the same time got her decision already. I'm just wondering where mine is ?

Hey everybody who is enrolling in UMSON Spring 2015 program.

I am going to be a second semester student (currently 1st semester). I am living at Fayette Square Apartments through the school. It is an amazing place to live, right near the campus and you really feel safe. I am currently trying to end my lease due to financial problems and I wanted to see if anybody would be interested in living at Fayette Square for the Spring and would like to take over my room/apartment lease. If you are interested, please send me an email or comment. I hope everybody is excited and ready for your upcoming semester!

I'm I the only one still at "committee ready"? Hopefully I'm not alone. I just want to know my decision and move on
