UMSON Spring 2015

Hello everyone! I may be a little early with this, but here's a new post for all of you hoping to apply this September 2nd for the Spring 2015 semester at UMSON. You can post questions you have, helpful advice you would like to give (if you're already in the program), etc.

I specifically have a question for those who have already applied to the Spring 2014 semester and got in. When you applied last September, when in November did you get your acceptance letter in the mail? Was it the beginning, middle, or toward the end of November? I'm asking this because the other nursing school I am applying to only gives a 3-week time period after the end of October (when they let you know if you made it in or not) to accept or decline enrollment. So, if I don't make it into UMSON, I'd want to be able to give this other nursing school an answer before the 3-week time period runs out.

Haha I guess I should start checking SURFS when I start seeing acceptance posts! Regardless of which school I get into, I'm going to celebrate! Looking forward to it!

Has anyone's status changed to "Comittee Ready"? Or is this too early in the game?

Negative...not even sure what that status means though? Does it mean the application has gone to the committee members to be read and reviewed? Or does it mean that the application has been reviewed and is ready for the committee to vote on it? If it's the first...it will hopefully change to "committee ready" soon, because it will stay "committee ready" for a long time. If it's the second, then we'll still have a while to wait before we see statuses change to "committee ready."

Hello! My name is Amanda and I am new to All Nurses all though I have been reading threads on here for years! lol. I applied to UMSON Baltimore Campus Spring 2015. I just checked my surfs account and this is what it says, "Application Status: Complete Ready for Review and Decision: Committee Ready". Is there a difference between the two? Im soooo nervous!!!

Hi Amanda!!! Welcome!! I wouldn't be too concerned with it. As long as it doesn't say requirements outstanding you are good to go. You just need to wait for a decision to be posted now, which won't be for at least another month.

Bronze 2 I am applying to the Baltimore campus, I got waitlisted for fall and I am really hoping to hear some good news for the spring! Any of you know anybody that went through the program before and what their thoughts are about it?

Haha KayBee09 I'm not sure which Bronze 2 you are referring to. (bcandygurl or me?) I'm sure you'll hear good news! Though I'm not entirely sure who here has gone through the specific Traditional BSN program with UMSON, you can probably see how it's going with BusyBee91 and FutureNurse22494. They're both enrolled in programs at the moment!

Also, for all of us Shady Grovers... has anyone gotten their Committee Ready? It looks like maybe all of the Baltimore applicants are getting their Committee Ready's first. I don't doubt we'll be getting ours soon, though! Also, as I recall, in one of the previous cycle's thread, the Baltimore campus also gets their decisions before Shady Grove. Of course, this could have changed for this cycle. We can only see and find out!

I applied to Baltimore and am still awaiting my "Committee Ready". I feel neurotic checking SURFS throughout the day. I guess I feel if I see the change, I know progress is being made towards decision making.
