Hello everyone! I may be a little early with this, but here's a new post for all of you hoping to apply this September 2nd for the Spring 2015 semester at UMSON. You can post questions you have, helpful advice you would like to give (if you're already in the program), etc.

I specifically have a question for those who have already applied to the Spring 2014 semester and got in. When you applied last September, when in November did you get your acceptance letter in the mail? Was it the beginning, middle, or toward the end of November? I'm asking this because the other nursing school I am applying to only gives a 3-week time period after the end of October (when they let you know if you made it in or not) to accept or decline enrollment. So, if I don't make it into UMSON, I'd want to be able to give this other nursing school an answer before the 3-week time period runs out.

Yeah jennyxyz call them! Did you send everything in by mail or by email?

By the 8th all my documents had been logged EXCEPT my Prereq Course List. I emailed the admissions email and one very kind Dilsia Menjivar told me to email the document again. BTW.......my status was still Outstanding at this point. She said it could have gotten mixed in with all the other application materials/that they had not yet finished going through all of them. I did as requested. On the 9th it shows she logged this form in and my status changed to Complete Ready for Review.

I, too, had proof. Contact them first thing Monday. They seem to want to help and are very kind.

Hello everyone!

I was wait listed for the Fall 2014 semester and now I am waiting to hear about Spring 2015. I currently attend the University of Connecticut and I am really hoping to get accepted to UMSON because my fiance is stationed on Fort Meade and we are hoping to start our lives together. Any idea when spring decisions come out?

I would think late October, at least that's what I'm hoping! If not, November.

I am about to call them. The amount of supplemental documents that are missing from my application is ridiculous.

Edit: So I called and I'm all good! They just didn't put it up yet. :sneaky:

KayBee09! Welcome to the thread! Fort Meade looks about in the middle between Baltimore and Shady Grove's campus. Which one are you thinking of going to? Also, katiep_123 is right. Per happymochi (who did the honors of emailing, woohoo!) we'll probably be knowing mid-to-late October.

And jennyxyz YES! Awesome! I was going to ask earlier what happened, but I'm so glad everything worked out for you!!! This just shows that they're really getting busy in Admissions!

It'll be October in 15 days!! I'm so excited yet scared. :/

Oh gummycoco so am I! I am eagerly awaiting "Committee Ready" to pop up in my status. Just wondering, has anyone had a change in statuses yet, other than the change from "Outstanding Requirements" to "Complete and Ready to Review?"

Perhaps I'm too early with this... it does seem as though they're trying their best to make sure all sent documents are filed. With about 300 applicants per each semester, they must try to file each applicant's online application and fee, transcripts, essays, prerequisite course list, CV/resume, TEAS scores, and letters of recs. That's about 2,100 documents they've got to sort out and update on SURFS! Wow! (Of course, the fee and essays, depending if you sent them in electronically or not, may be automatically updated on the application summary, so that's about 600 that could potentially be sorted, saving them some time.)

Anyway, if anyone gets any status changes in the next few weeks, be sure to let us all know! Haha! So excited! (And scared!) :x3:

***Disclaimer! I saw the about 300 applicants from a previous cycle's thread. It could be more or less by 20-50 applicants! I'm obviously not sure of this. (Would love to be though. Haha!)

I know!! I have been checking my status day and night but it's still complete and ready for review. So nerve wrecking :( well if we do end up hearing back around mid oct, we only have a month to wait :) Goodluck to all!

Looks like they've posted the Spring orientation dates...Accepted Students | University of Maryland School of Nursing. Not that I know if it matters yet for me... But it's nice to know if I get in when my last day should be/how much leave I'll be able to cash out.

This is my second time applying and my advice to you would be, don't check everyday. It's really not worth it! I won't change for another month at least so don't drive yourself crazy!

I second that, katiep_123! It's my third time around. I'm pretty...relaxed, and I know better than to check often. I'll find out when I find out.
