REMINDER!!! The deadline to submit your Fall application is nearing. As of now, the deadline has not changed from February 2 (short of 4 weeks away).
This is my second time applying--I was wait listed for the Spring term. Currently, I am studying to take my TEAS exam again on January 27th. This exam was the only portion of my application I was not confident in. I scored a 70% without refreshing my memory on key concepts by studying before hand. I did find the test to be a "you either no it or you don't" kind of thing so from personal experience--STUDY!
I have no outstanding prerequisites and my sciences are as follows:
AP1. -- B
AP2. -- A
CHEM -- B
MICRO -- A
I had the privilege of chatting with the last group of students and found this forum to be quite helpful! Please use this post as a way of communicating, sharing experiences, and giving advice. Hopefully, we will be classmates in the Fall!:)
Hey everyone!Off topic question. How competitive is Towson's nursing program? I'm waitlisted for the fall but I'm thinking of applying to other schools. UMSON is definitely my first choice but I need other options!
Also Grey Lady,
I have read that applications of people who were waitlisted will roll over to next semester and the fee will be waived. However, will that look bad that the applicant was waitlisted the previous semester? Would a fresh Spring 2016 application look better to admissions than a waitlisted Fall 2015 applicant? Thanks!
Hey hey. I just turned down a Towson spot...they get about 250+ applications per semester for 75 or so spots. Hopefully you'll get in if UMSON doesn't work out...it's a good program. UMSON has more of a public health focus, which I ultimately want to do.
BlessedandHopeful,
I have decided I will not let anymore time lasp because the courses somewhat "expire" (for certain school it's 5, some 7, some 10) so I will be applying for Anne Arundel Community College to get a ADN which will allow me to take the RN nursing exam and then I'll go from RN-to-BSN. I'm sitting on 88 credits so since to become a RN is the goal I'm going to get the ball rolling. I was waitlisted twice so as you said I need options !! 😊😊
Grey Lady, are they still accepting students? My application is still committee ready. It's been almost three weeks since decisions started coming out. Should I call them?
They are still accepting students. Also, soon the deadline for the first round of offers will go into effect and they will take people to fill the spots of those who declined our offer of acceptance. Those slots could be filled by wait list or committee ready status applicants.
@ Grey Lady, so people who are still committee ready have not gotten a decision yet means they were not first choice?
No, that is not what it means. It means that the first round of decisions is not quite finished. If they were restricted to being released all at the same time everyone would still be waiting to hear.

That's great. I hope you get in! Good luck!

Every semester is a whole new ball game. The fact that you were wait listed before only says that you almost made it that semester but the competition was just a bit too much. If anything, a previous semester wait list status would be a slight advantage.
