UMSON Fall 2014

Published

Deadline is set - February 3, 2014

Who is applying?

Retake the TEAS if your scores are low. They look at Math and the English the most I think. If I don't get in, that's what I will be doing

Specializes in psych/dementia.

For those worrying about their GPA, I know someone who was admitted to the CNL program with BELOWa 3.0 GPA and they are graduating in May. As CNL's we do not take the TEAS so I cannot attest to the impact of that score. UMSON really does look at the WHOLE package not just GPA and test scores.

To those who will be starting this fall, CONGRATS!!!

OMG!!! I just checked mines and I was wait-listed. It updated today because I checked on Friday night and there was nothing. I jumped for joy as if it were to say I was accepted. I have been denied twice at Towson and could not see myself handling another denial. I'm extremely happy to be considered for the wait list. The wait is over. I hope and pray I get accepted. Does anyone know how many people get on the wait list and how many get accepted from the list. GOODLUCK EVERYONE

Do the start putting people on the wait list after they are done accepting everyone? And ALSo if u don't get accepted do they change your status to denied or something so dat u can know when to stop hoping or does it stay on commitee ready forever

I have no idea. But I think I read it changes for everyone at different times. Also I don't think they are done accepting people but then again idk much. I hope someone else on here can help you. Goodluck.

Judging by what everyone else is saying on here, I think they do accepted and wait-listed people in no particular order. They could do a few of one and then a few of another. And they do change your status to let you know if you're accepted,wait-listed or denied admission.

Just checked again...still ready for review. I applied for Shady Grove.

When I applied for the spring, I had been waitlisted, but I still got accepted a few weeks later. It was algebra that never took me past provisional admit. :-( Just because they accepted me once doesn't mean they'll accept me again.

I'm concerned because one of my science classes is approaching its 5-year "expiration date" so this is probably my last shot. If it's a "no" then I still have time to apply to UMD for microbiology for the fall. I'd just rather be a nurse than a scientist! I still want to study micro later on, but I want to be able to work with patients.

Hello!

I've been obsessively viewing this message board and finally decided to join in lol. I applied to the BSN program at shady grove. My status still says committee ready but I hope to hear some good news on monday! I did apply last semester and was accepted but had to decline due to outstanding courses.

beachgirl124, we're in the same boat! I had made it to orientation, but had to leave the second day. My CLEP score was 2 points short of passing and they needed to review my previous college algebra class, which did not suffice. (It was from 18 years ago.)

Serious congrats biibii! Being rejected sucks but being waitlisted is extremely promising! I myself am crossing my finger that Salisbury will take me off the waitlist if UMD rejects me.

Hey aflower77 and beachgirl124,

I applied to Shady Grove as well, and my status is still at committee ready...Hope we find out on Monday!! Best wishes!!!!

After I applied for the spring semester, admissions told me I needed EN109 and MA110, and I couldn't find any colleges that offered them in the winter. I felt terrible that I wasn't going to be able to accept their offer, but I'm glad my spot was given to someone else on the wait-list. Hopefully this time around we'll both get in!
