Who is applying?
thanks for the words of encouragement guys!:) Iwas just starting to feel intimidated by all the high scores plus the added stress of midterms, I was getting so emotional! Well, midterms are done and I got an A in Human Growth and Development (so that should bump up my GPA) and I'm glad to hear that people were accepted who didn't have perfect grades! Spring break is here so I'm going to try to relax and stop stressing!
Congrats again to everyone who has been accepted!
Congrats on doing well on your Human Growth class PinkEagle! Personally, I had been feeling intimidated as well, as I specifically don't have the best GPA overall, but I'm praying and hoping that the committee has seen something other than my GPA. If I don't get accepted, then I will still try to be positive and fight for my dream to go to nursing school and patiently wait for the other couple schools that I applied to. I'm learning that it certainly doesn't help if you're constantly stressing over the decisions as I have experienced a couple of rejections from schools in the past year...
However, it would mean so much to be able to attend UMSON and be near my grandmother who has Alzheimer's. Like everyone's been saying, all we can do is wait, so I guess we'll find out this week?! Sincerely hoping for the best for everyone still waiting to hear!! Excited for Monday to come!!
Hi all,
my stats are pretty low compared to everyone here, I barely have overall 3.0 because I took complex courses. Anyways I got wait listed and I applied very late like January. For those who got accepted can you tell me when you have to make ur decision by? Because I think I will most likely get rejected since no one is going to give up a seat umd like that's crazy! I just need to know because I need to register for organic if they rejected me. FYI my teas score placed me in the 97percentile. Thanks and good luck to all !!!!
itsmylife - don't fret. I'd have a perfect 4.0 if I hadn't done 2 years as a STEM major. Talk about tough courses taking a hit on your GPA! I have a 3.43GPA, an evenly distributed 89.7 (which I guess was 98th percentile?) on my TEAS. But GPA and TEAS are just 2 factors of the UMSON admissions process. So many other factors are weighed with applicants, and while GPA and TEAS are surely decent determining factors, things like passion, long term goals, dedication, life experience and previous health experience are surely counted if they were stated in your admissions essay. Besides, I'm sure just like any other college UMSON wants well rounded classes.
Also, You'd be surprised at the turnover in fall admissions. (seriously, check falls boards for previous cycles.) In past cycles I've seen tons of wait-listers get their call. Also, wait-listed applicants are automatically rolled over to the next semester to be re-evaluated against the next pool of applicants. That's how I ended up here!

so does that mean that if I'm wait-listed, I'll be considered for spring 2015? What about if I started at Towson, can I transfer?

To help some that are losing hope: I received a call saying that I was accepted for the UMSON program for the fall! So excited and congratulations to everyone else here :) My GPA was a 3.4 with a science GPA of a 3.0 (barely). My TEAS was in the 95th percentile. Good luck to everyone :)
