Hello all, I am planning to apply to UMSON in the fall 2016. I haven't seen a thread yet for other hopefuls and potential candidates. So I wanted to start one.
Congrats amoda! I've also been looking for a CNL facebook group and couldn't find anything, so was thinking of creating one myself. If anyone knows of one that already exists, please share the link. If there's not already one, I can make one and share it here, I just didn't want to create another group if there's already one up and running.
Hi all! I am a baltimore BSN candidate have been following this forum for a bit now and I have honestly become so discouraged during this wait. I was originally in UMSON's partnership program with the University of Maryland, College Park which allows students who have certain grades and other statistics to have an automatic entry into the school. One of my grades fell bellow the standards, and so I had to transition to be a regular applicant in the poll. I was wondering if I could get your opinion on my chances, because UMSON is the only school I applied to because up to December I had a secured spot. This wait is making it closer and closer to the fall and I need to figure out my housing situation (I signed a lease in Baltimore a while ago) and I need to start making other plans if necessary. These are my stats:
3.6 overall GPA- A in human growth and development, nutrition, socy, psyc
3.0 science GPA- microbiology (A-), Chemistry (B), Anatomy 1 (C+/what took me out of the partnership), Anatomy 2 (B)
94% on TEAS/ 99% percentile
Really good recommendations
Experience interning at Johns Hopkins University in a stroke study
I just really want opinions because I can't just wait around any longer. I realize these are just opinions, but I don't really have any frame of reference
Also congrats to all who have made it in!!!
Here's a link for the CNL Fall 2016 Facebook group! Let me know if you can't join it. It's closed, so you may have to request to join: UMSON CNL Fall 2016
*I read somewhere that Facebook groups are not searchable until there are 10 members, so not sure if this is the only group that exists out there, but hopefully it is!
Is anyone planning to move into Fayette square housing and need a roommate? I'm thinking of doing that but would prefer another nursing student (female) to room with (2bd) Fayette tower unit. I was admitted to the CNL program so someone in the CNL program will be ideal, I also don't mind a BSN. Thanks.

Congratulations, I was also accepted into the CNL program and might need a roommate too, where do u plan on staying if u don't mind me asking? I was thinking of Fayette square but it seems expensive plus I've read some bad reviews so I'm not sure. R u from the area or out of state?

Hi amoda! Congrats on getting in!! I also interviewed 2 weeks ago for the CNL program but have not received my decision yet
Would you mind sharing what day exactly you interviewed??
Also, when you say you couldn't make it, do you mean you tried to defer and they didn't let you?? just asking because my friend was admitted and she might have to defer because of a serious family situation so I really hope they let her defer to the Spring cycle
