Hello all, I am planning to apply to UMSON in the fall 2016. I haven't seen a thread yet for other hopefuls and potential candidates. So I wanted to start one.
kayrock, did they happen to say whether that was just for BSN applicants? So I know I said I was trying not to worry too much about when decisions come out but... I got a little antsyand ended up contacting admissions yesterday. They told me that decisions should begin going out by April 15th
.
I indicated that I was a traditional BSN applicant and they just said decisions should be out by then... I'm not sure if that was a general type of thing or specific to the traditional BSN program? I'm not sure, sorry! I know you said your interview was last week, so it shouldn't be too long before you find out .
*I will add that the CNL registration portion of their webpage is already updated for Fall 2016. Not sure if that has any sway on when decisions come out though, heh.
Hey Kayrock,
Looks like were in this together again. I applied for Spring 2016 and was wait-listed. Previously attended a private for profit nursing school but it was extremely expensive. I did not apply to any back up schools Spring 16 so now I am prepared if I am wait-listed again. I made sure I applied to MC this time around. Hoping for the best with UMSON. (getting to the point..)
How many seats are they accepting this semester? I want to attend the Shady Grove location.
Hi Faith247,
I remember you from the Spring 2016 thread! Hopefully you and I will get to meet each other either at UMSON Shady Grove or MC (since I also applied to both, preferably the former though!!).
I would assume the number of seats would be slightly higher than last fall, since they increased their numbers by a little for the spring. I'm not entirely sure, though. Grey Lady would probably have a better idea since she gave us an estimate on the Spring 2016 thread.
I just spoke with the CNL admissions and was told that I would probably hear back from them in about two weeks or less for an interview. After interviews it may take up to 3 weeks max for them to give out decisions. If it helps to estimate the time, I applied on Jan 31, but my recommendation did not process in until Feb 26. She also mentioned that interviews take the majority of the time because they may only be interviewing about 5 people per day and they only do interviews about 3 days a week. So, if they have about 100 applicants to interview it will take some time to get through everyone. I hope this helps and we all hear back from them in a week or two! :)
Hi Betibee3 - Great, thanks for the info! Does the three week notification period start after all interviews are completed? Just wondering if it's a three week max period from an individual's interview date or after they've completed all interviews? I hope you hear good news very soon! :)I just spoke with the CNL admissions and was told that I would probably hear back from them in about two weeks or less for an interview.
