UMSON fall 2016 hopefuls ?

Hello all, I am planning to apply to UMSON in the fall 2016. I haven't seen a thread yet for other hopefuls and potential candidates. So I wanted to start one.

I applied to UMSON and Montgomery College. Last year, I only applied to MC's Fall 2015 program, and got accepted, but then declined the offer because I was set on applying to UMSON. Then for Spring 2016, I was waitlisted for UMSON, but did not apply to MC. This time around I applied to both schools so that I have an better chance of attending school for Fall 2016. It's true when they say don't put all your eggs in one basket... at least this time around I have two :D

I may be little late with this information, as I have not been on this thread lately and haven't had time to go back and read the previously posts from where I stopped about a month ago, so I am sorry if I am repeating what others have said. I was at the Open House on March 12th and the admissions department spoke to the timing on decisions. Our 'application class' for the fall 2016 was pretty big and seemed to have waited until the last couple of weeks to get everything in and then the blizzard on top of that, so the admissions department was backed up for about a month sorting through everything. So they said at the open house they are hoping to have letters out in mid-April, if not a little sooner. The admissions department didn't really speak to the increased number admitted affecting the timing of the decisions. Again, sorry if this was already covered and I hope I am not over stepping anyone! Good luck to all in the coming weeks!!

I was at the Open House too! Maybe we saw each other without knowing each other haha. But wow, I'm glad you're sharing this information because I probably wasn't around when they disclosed this. It's nice to know that the admissions committee is being as transparent as possible with us with the process. And don't apologize, we're lucky that you're updating us so we're not left wondering why (if it ends up being the case) decisions will be out later this year. Thanks so much!

Congrats Edelate!!! I bet that is a huge relief. I still have not heard from the CNL program. Anyone else scheduled for interviews?

My girlfriend also applied for the BSN and she called to find out when we should be hearing back and they told her that we should be hearing back sometime in April.

Yeah, in past threads people who posted their acceptances for the traditional BSN program last year (Fall 2015) began hearing back on April 21st, Fall 2014 was April 11th, Fall 2013 was April 8th. Seems to range between the second week to end of April and extends into the following months up until August (where some got pulled off the waitlist). There are also many more applicants that aren't on this forum who might have gotten calls/letters before those dates too... so we really can't pinpoint when exactly but at least we have a general idea :yes:.

I would not think that the total number of acceptances affects how long the admissions process takes - the the total number of applicants and how long it takes to get all the supporting paperwork does indeed affect it.
