Hey!

CONGRATS on the interview invitations/acceptance letters everyone. I just got invited for an interview! This is my second time applying. Last year I didn’t get an interview, so I’m super nervous yet thankful.
 

Please send any tips/tool to help me towards the interview. You all have been so transparent and comforting in this thread. I feel better by reading this alone.

CONGRATS on getting an interview! @EndoWarrior The interview was very conversational and my interviewer was so nice. I would just make sure to have solid answers for why nursing, why CNL, and why UMSON. I was also given the opportunity at the end of my interview to share anything important about myself and I am glad I got to do that.

@EndoWarrior Good luck on your interview! I think @hopefulnurse1 put it perfectly. The interview is not intimidating at all. As long as you know your reason for choosing nursing/UMSON CNL. My interviewer started off by letting me know that it was more of a conversation to get to know me and so I could learn more about the program. I would make sure you have a few questions prepared about specifics in the program to really show your interest. The writing sample isn’t bad at all. As long as you can write a pretty basic but structured essay.

CONGRATS everyone! When did you all submit/have all your application documents in by? I was pretty much still getting everything together up until August 1 so I’m hoping they just haven’t gotten to mine yet since they go in order

Thanks!  I submitted mines by 7/14 I believe and then it went to committee review on 7/24.  I was invited to interview on 8/7.  Had my interview on 8/11 and received an offer on 9/4.  Good luck!

Thank you! I submitted my app on 6/19, committee review 7/8, interview invite 8/5 interview on 8/10, and received an offer on 9/4.

Did anyone also apply to ABSN programs too? If you have been accepted to both UMSON and ABSN programs what has been your deciding factor to accept your offer to UMSON. The COA is starting to look a little worrisome ?

I was originally accepted to an ABSN program that I was supposed to start last year but I maxed out of for federal loans and was unable to pay for the tuition since I already have a bachelors degree so getting a masters was the best option for

I was also accepted into GW's ABSN program. Ultimately, I think that UMSON has the better program and it will be significantly less expensive than GW's program. I am just a little more excited about pursuing a Master's degree than I am about getting another Bachelor's degree. I am hoping that the Master's degree will set me apart in the future when I'm applying to jobs. I do think that you can't really go wrong if the goal is to become an RN!
