Hey! I know this is super late but I’m very interested in the NICU at Inova and I have an initial phone interview with the recruiter next week. Do you mind if I ask you a few questions about the process and how you’re liking the unit?

I wrote 2. It’s likely more about the strength of your essays and what you’re writing than whether or not you do all three when they only ask for two.

Johns Hopkins offered me the Deans scholarship ? So that may make my decision a bit easier. I have a health science undergrad degree. cGPA was 3.49. Science GPA was 3.5 but I got a C+ in Microbiology so I have to retake that. I got my CNA license in high school but didn’t practice much with it. I have years of volunteer and community service experience here and abroad working in hospitals and the community.

I was also offered admission! Now I have to decide between JHU and UMSON ?

@EndoWarrior Good luck on your interview! I think @hopefulnurse1 put it perfectly. The interview is not intimidating at all. As long as you know your reason for choosing nursing/UMSON CNL. My interviewer started off by letting me know that it was more of a conversation to get to know me and so I could learn more about the program. I would make sure you have a few questions prepared about specifics in the program to really show your interest. The writing sample isn’t bad at all. As long as you can write a pretty basic but structured essay. Yes to the facebook group! ?

Hey @Maame_nurse The first round of interviews for the priority deadline are complete. There’s another round for priority deadline at the end of this week and decisions will go out starting next month. I agree with Alyson. The interview was super conversational. I ended up feeling like I stressed myself out for nothing. If you prepare like you would for a basic job interview you’ll do fine.

@Lala292 Sure. cGPA: 3.49 Prereq GPA: 3.5 Former CNA (Got my license at 16 and didn’t practice much), healthcare experience interning in hospitals in Baltimore and abroad. A few years of volunteer/community outreach experience here and abroad.

Just got an email for an interview! ? I went into committee review on July 24th
