Hi All! I wanted to see who has applied for UMSON for the fall 2019 Semester. I have applied for the Baltimore campus. I am very nervous, as I retook two classes, so my current overall GPA of 3.75 will go down to a 3.3 as they factor that in. For an overall science GPA, mine is an 3.8. On the TEAS, I received a 73.3 overall, Having and 82 on the reading, and 87 on math. I also have experience at a nursing home that I currently work at now. Has any one else applied? Which campus? I have also heard that UMSON takes long to get back and most won't hear until April. I turned in my application on Jan 29., and I keep looking like they would have already said something hahah. Hope to hear back soon!
Hello all!!! I applied to the Shady Grove campus because it's going to be closer to me! Right now I actually go to a school out of state, but for a few reasons am going to hopefully go to UMSON in the Fall! (although I applied to my current school as a backup!) My overall GPA is 4.0, my science is 3.75, and I got a 92.7% on my TEAS. I also applied for Conway! I thought I would give it a shot! ps do y'all know what the nclex passing rate is for UMSON? I've tried to find it but I couldn't!!

https://www.nursingschool411.com/maryland/ I found this link, it says UMD's is 87.60%. I'm also hoping I get into Shady Grove! My stats are really similar to yours so fingers crossed ?

I see you & @sydneyttt! Quality stats. That TEAS puts us in the 99th percentile so I’m interested in how this will play out.
I, on the other hand, am hoping my TEAS and decade long experience will increase my chances as my overall GPA is probably barely a 3.0 gpa. I wrote an academic essay to explain why I failed college like 12 years ago (so embarrassing) and that I’m also much better at school now so ?
Any one else applying with another bachelors degree? Anyone else waited too long to go back to try and finish their BSN?

I'm currently a sophomore at Towson University so I applied here as well since the prerequisites were more or less the same. UMSON is currently my top choice because I'll save a ton of money on housing if I can move back home and commute.

Man I’m so jelly of your TEAS!! I only studied 5 days and I got an 84. I was so busy with school and work all last year, but I’m hoping my GPA and my essay will wow them. I’ve spoken to the assistant director of UMSON and she told me ppl with 2.5 GPAs have gotten in because of how good their essays were. So I really put my heart and soul into that essay so hopefully ny writing skills will help me stand out
Good to know about the essay! I’m sure they accept people with different combinations of qualifications. 200 words is tough to pour your heart & soul into!
Edit: @WeirdNurse 84 is pretty good for TEAS. I think I remember them saying 85ish is the average so they accept a good range of scores.
Hellllo! I applied for Fall 2019 as well for both campus’ but I prefer Baltimore since I live here now. I am freaking out guys haha I literally check the status every single day. A few of my friends got into the Spring 2019 program for Baltimore and they found out mid October so I’m hoping that we will find out mid March. But I am freaking out lol

I submitted January 15th I believe? I got a 92% on my TEAS and have a 3.79 gpa but I'm only 20 and don't have any work experience in the health care field so I'm really hoping my gpa/TEAS score is good enough haha
