UMSON Baltimore/Shady Grove BSN FALL 2019

Published

Hi All! I wanted to see who has applied for UMSON for the fall 2019 Semester. I have applied for the Baltimore campus. I am very nervous, as I retook two classes, so my current overall GPA of 3.75 will go down to a 3.3 as they factor that in. For an overall science GPA, mine is an 3.8. On the TEAS, I received a 73.3 overall, Having and 82 on the reading, and 87 on math. I also have experience at a nursing home that I currently work at now. Has any one else applied? Which campus? I have also heard that UMSON takes long to get back and most won't hear until April. I turned in my application on Jan 29., and I keep looking like they would have already said something hahah. Hope to hear back soon!

Hey! I applied for fall 2019 as well but for the Shady Grove campus since it's closer.

Awesome! When did you submit your app? and if you dont mind me asking what did you get as your TEAS?

Hello,

All of my application materials were submitted by Jan 28. So my status is “Complete ready for review.” Applying for Shady Grove.

I’m coming from a nontraditional background so I’m not sure how my overall GPA will be calculated as I have an Associates from one school, an LPN from another, and took my science prerequisites from somewhere else. My biggest concern is my overall gpa which I’m hoping breaks 3.0ish as I have several less than stellar grades. My science prerequisites is 3.75 gpa, TEAS 92.7%, and I have many years of experience as a CNA & LPN.

I’m really banking on my TEAS and experience to outweigh the overall GPA. I think my science prereq is in the average?

Best wish all! ?

wow your teas is amazing! I am scared because I had a recruitor come to my school today and she said that more people get accepted if they apply to shady grove because more people know about baltimore than that campus. Mine also says complete and ready for review! Can’t help but be nervous hahaha.

Stats looking good!

Did you guys have any issues with the recommender form? My two profs had issues with it. And I had a friend say she had issues too. I saw they extended the deadline to Feb 8. I’m thinking it’s related.

Your stats are great and you sound super well rounded! Definitely a big congrats to us!! Yeah I asked my recommender like the first week of January because I was scared something like that would happen to me. Be sure to keep me updated!

Mine was okay. I only had one recommender but that’s all they asked for. After my professor submitted it it took like 4-5 days for it to show up on my application. I think it’s related to the deadline extension as well.

I had no issues with the recommendation form. At least none that my recommender brought to my attention. I hear they extend deadlines when they don’t get enough competitive applicants, but hey who knows why ! Deadline extensions are common with UMSON, I will say that. I had a friend apply for the Spring 2019 semester and they had a deadline extension as well.

has anyone applied for the Conway Scholarships?

I asked more than one professor just in case one wasn’t able to complete on time or turned me down. Both said yes so they’ll just look at the first one turned in.

If it’s true that the deadline was extended to get more competitive applicants, that looks good for us?

The application anxiety is real. This is the only I school applied to. What about y’all?

Edit: Re: Conway. I did. Might as well take the chance, right?
