Hello!!
Did anyone apply yet? I submitted my application and documents in, but NursingCAS is a bit annoying. I had to call them several times about them claiming to not receive all the pages from my references How are you guys making out with the process?
Enilrek...Some of the schools I looked into start in may. Very expensive though. Idk if I want to spend more than 60G for an accelerated program. I will also look into community colleges, start working and then do like a bridge program to BSN. Many hospitals pay for education including the hospital I work for. I don't know if I can apply to UMDNJ again for the summer? In the email they only said due to competitive applicants mine was declined.
If you didn't get an email today you are in the program. Best of luck!!
Thank you! That is helpful. Just wanted to see how someone in the program liked it and felt about it! I spoke to Kathy Colin to ask all of my questions and she was so condescending and rude to me it really turned me off. I just needed someone to confirm that saving the money and going to UMDNJ wouldn't be a huge mistake.
Yeah, unfortunately many people say the same thing after speaking with her, but to love her is to know her. I'm glad I was able to help somewhat with your decision. Also, if you are thinking about an advanced degree in the future at UMDNJ, they just started BSN-to-DNP peds specialty, but that will eventually open to other specialties. I wish you all the best.

Yea you're right, most of the other schools do start in May and cost way more... I was just asking because I know of one school in particular that I also applied to, Desales University, that has less restrictions on the requirement and costs roughly 38k. Only thing is it is located in PA if you're willing to relocate. Either ways, whichever route you decide to take I wish you the best of luck! Don't give up on your dreams and stay encouraged.
Thanks for the wishes!

Hi. Was your previous degree below a 3.0? UMDNJ focuses more on that undergrad GPA more than they do the prereq GPA. If your undergrad GPA is above 3.0 then I would encourage you to apply again in Jan for summer admissions. It's best to apply early because I can garuntee they've already offered Summer admissions to some applicants who applied for the Spring.
Also make sure your hospital hires ADNs. I've seen posts where students were promised a job after graduation and was disappointed to find the hospital changed their mind due to the student having an ADN. As long as you plan to get your BSN hopefully that is still a plus. All the best.

Orientation doesn't start until Dec. 1 (next Thurdsay) so there is still time for those that haven't heard a response yet. I do hope and pray that you'll receive favorable news!
Does anyone know if UMDNJ does a waiting list?
