Hello!!
Did anyone apply yet? I submitted my application and documents in, but NursingCAS is a bit annoying. I had to call them several times about them claiming to not receive all the pages from my references How are you guys making out with the process?
Yes my GPA for the undergrad in general sciences is 3.06 and for prereqs is 2.9, I have more than two years of experience in an ICU unit as a nursing assistant, I did had good recommendations. I guess my GPA was not competitive. I don't know if I should apply again for the summer cohort. Yes my hospital hires ADNs, I know that for sure. I wanted to do an accelerated full time and get my BSN, I really didn't want to go for ADN. I will also apply to NJCU for this may, I have to pass the HESI though.
coolbsn.. Thx for the link, It is in Maryland, I have a family and a 5 year old child, it will be difficult to relocate. I have a lot of support here from my mother. I wish any of the schools in NJ had that program, seems to be very good option. I will enjoy the holidays, stay positive and apply to other schools.

Your previous ICU experience doesn't help you get in either. This is coming from Mae, who is the nursing recruiter. She has told me to her knowledge nobody has gotten accepted with a GPA under a 3.0. Due to the high volume of applicants they first look at all the GPAs and weed out all those with a GPA less than 3.0. They don't even look at their references or essay. It's a little known fact to us students that having at least the minimum of 3.0 gets you in, which is why I automatically knew your GPA was the reason for the decline.
Glad you are applying to NJCU, and wish you success on the Hesi.

Look into applying to Jersey city university. They charge about the same amount as UMDNJ and a 3.0 GPA is prefered, but not required so it seems like they dont have to many applicants. Heres the link, best of luck!
