UMDNJ Accelerated BSN Spring 2012

I've applied and all of my documents have been received and processed by NursingCas. The only thing was UMDNJ emailed me last week and asked me to submit my syllabus for the pre-requisite chemistry class I took. I found that a little odd.

Right now I'm just waiting on pins and needles, waiting for a response. I hope they start replying soon.

Hi Nurse 2013,

Do you mind me asking when you applied? I didn't think that NursingCAS sent the information to UMDNJ until after the application deadline (which they extended to Oct 1st)?? I submitted my application early this month and nothing seems to have been processed. I keep checking the GPA Calculation tab and it always says there is nothing to display, does yours display your grades?

Hi AMiner,

My application was completed the last week in August with GPA calculations, references and transcripts. I think what happened is that the initial deadline date was Sept. 7, so they are reviewing applications that have been submitted since then (which I think is fair).

When did you submit all your information? Maybe you can give NursingCAS a call.

Okay thanks, I actually did just call Nursing CAS. The guy gave me what seems to be the typical spiel "the GPA calculation will be posted once transcripts are received, reviewed and processed", he said reviewing could take "2-4 weeks" and processing could take "up to 5 weeks". But since your info is already in place and you submitted at the end of August I'm hoping it won't take that long for mine.

I submitted my application on Sept 7th (I held off on my personal statement as long as I could because I was nervous about it). My final transcript wasn't received until Sept 12th though! So he said my application was "complete" as of Sept 12th, I guess it's a good thing for me that they extended the deadline.

Hopefully I'll see some updates on my CAS page soon! Thanks for the information! Maybe we'll be classmates in a few months :)

Hello,

I have applied and all my documents were received by the 7th but the GPA calculation does not show anything yet. I called NursingCAS they said it takes 7-10 days to for NursingCas to process it and put it in line to be reviewed. I am very anxious. Does anyone know how long it will take after October 1st?

nurse2013- where did you take the chemistry course at? i went to an info session at umdnj a month ago, and they stressed that as long as it was a general chemistry course (and not like a college chemistry i, or intro to chemistry) you should be alright.

marki'smom - it takes some time for them to process your transcripts and gpa calculations. once all of my transcripts were officially updated on nursingcas, the gpa calculations appeared like 2 days later. i'm wondering too how long it will take to review the applications being that it was extended. my application was completed 8/15/11, but my references weren't fully received until 9/9/11 :uhoh3: i'm just so anxious to hear something back...

Hi all!

I submitted everything by the end of July and it came up on NursingCAS by early August (I was going out of the country for 3 weeks starting August 15th so I wanted everything in early). I got an e-mail on August 25th from UMDNJ saying that everything had been received and that decisions would be available by the end of October.

However, I got my acceptance letter in the mail last Friday (Sept. 23rd). I was surprised since I wasn't expecting anything until October at least! I'm in the process of completing all the acceptance forms and whatnot.

I personally found NursingCAS to be overly complicated, and calling customer service with the few questions I had was hit or miss as far as helpfulness. I think it ended up being a good thing that I had to submit everything super early - I had read lots of complaints about misplaced documents and having to resubmit things quite a bit as I was applying. Good luck to you guys! Hopefully we'll all be meeting each other within the next few months. :)

Thanks so much! If you got your stuff in by the beginning of September, I wouldn't worry, especially since the deadline has been extended! As far as I've read, as long as you meet the requirements and get everything in by the deadline, you should be good. There are less applications in Spring and Summer than in Fall, which means less competition! Plus the deadline extension looks to me to be a good thing - that means there are still seats to be filled for the semester!

And trust me, I'm taking full advantage of my last few months of freedom! I can't wait to see the posts here as people start getting their letters, too.

Hi everyone,

I called the school today and they said we should receive an email first stating they have everything, then it will be put aside for decision. Also what concerned me was the GPA because when the NursingCAS calculated my GPA was different from the school. I am anxious because my GPA is 3.006 with a prereqs GPA close to 2.9, not very competitive. I asked the school they said they look at the institution GPA mostly, so hopefully i can make it. What do you guys think?? I submitted everything the first week of september but NursingCas did not send my application until the 23rd, not very happy about it.
