UMB Spring 2012

Published

Hello! I am in the process of applying for the spring 2012 semester at the Baltimore campus!! I didn't see any threads out there yet for people who are applying so I figured I'd start one :) Feel free to share gpa, TEAS scores, etc and any updates on admission!! GOOD luck to everyone!

AprilAnney- I've looked at the courses and have a tentative schedule planned out. Of course clinicals will be a whole other ball game! No clue what those will be like. I'm assuming they will start around 7:30 am though. My oldest is in 1st grade, youngest goes to preschool on Ft. Meade. My husband has a great, easy work schedule.... when he is home. He travels for 100 days each year though, and will be gone for about 5 weeks in the Spring, so we are going to have to do some before/after care for my older daughter. (sigh)

As for the parking permits, I know that the orientation in January has student ID, bookstore, and parking on the agenda so I think I'm just going to wait until then to get my parking permit. I may make a trip into Baltimore before that for some other school-related stuff, so I may take care of the parking thing then. It turns out I need to have quite a few of my shots updated, so that's on my growing to do list as well. So much to do in the next 2 months!

Which CPR class did everyone sign up for? I was looking at the Red Cross Professional Rescusers one....

I did the American Heart Assoc BLS one...Because it was cheaper and the class was closer to my home ...

I signed up for the AHA BLS one. $75 as opposed to $110.

Hello, I was wondering if anybody is interested in sharing a 3 bedroom apartment near the UMB Baltimore campus? I moving out from California, and it seems like this place is nice: http://www.camdencourtapts.com/

I will not have a car, so I am looking for places walking distance from school. This place is 4 blocks away from the School of Nursing building-- probably around 8 minutes walking.

Rent looks to be around $800 per person, kind of expensive but my priorities are security and a walkable location to the campus.

I've also looked into the University Suites Fayette, but found mixed reviews about living there. Please message me if you have any advice on housing! I would much appreciate it, Thanks!

Same here- AHA BLS for Health Care Providers. It's certainly cheaper, but closer to where I live and the dates were better for me as well. Sort of a no brainer for me.

Hello everyone,

I think I need help. I was trying to order my name tag from the maryland university bookstore and online I could only find the name tag on the stethescope. Did anyone order their name tag because I just got a call from the school and they said I should order it right now because it takes at least 4 weeks. please help.

Thank you

@Temem: The name tag with the picture of the stehoscope is the correct name tag. Atleast that's what I was told by the person that I spoke to over the phone.

Anyone else waitlisted for the BSN program? :( Wondering what I should do!

There's a girl in one of my classes that was waitlisted. I'll tell you what I told her- don't lose hope! You weren't rejected and there is a huge possibility that you could get a spot. Our deposits are due within the next 2 weeks, so wait and see if you get a call in 2 weeks when they reopen the seats from the people that declined acceptance or deferred. Your application was good enough to catch there eye, so don't lose faith just yet!
