UMB Spring '09 applicants?

Published

Just thought I would check to see who else might be applying for Spring '09?

Hmmm...another question for the masses. Anyone gotten the fabled nursing packet yet or knows how long it takes? I'm hesitant to call and ask the campus for information since I haven't received anything on paper (like the rest of you guys I learned of my acceptance online).

First, you will receive your acceptance letter which will tell you that you are required to place a non refundable tuition deposit.

I'm a little unnerved by having to put a large down payment down without having any idea what the FA offered might be. Does that bother anyone else, is it just me? :crying2:

I just got my official letter today too. Well think about it this was for school cost, UMB is probably going to be the cheapest school around here.

I noticed on the enrollment agreement it said that I need provide official transcript again. But I guess I would need to if I was taking classes this fall, which I am not.

huh? i don't get it. what's with the deposit?

Wouldn't ya know it...I got my letter the same day I posed the question- shows how patient I can be :imbar What I found really funny though was I applied to the Baltimore campus and they put me in Shady Grove. Quite curious as I'd like to find housing in Baltimore (would make the commute easier). Obviously I'll go either way but I guess I need to sort things out with the main branch anyways...

As for the cost of things, 400 dollars is pretty pricey for a "down payment" of sorts. But in the grand scheme of things UMB is fairly cheap as far as schools go. From what I've found looking at other universities they like to tack on hidden fees for nurses that bump up in state tuition even further- you have to really search for them online too. At least when you look at the tuition costs here you know they're going to be the same for every student.

After you get your acceptance, its a $400 deposit to hold your spot but it will be applied to your tuition in the end.

well CONGRATULATIONS!!!:up::D:yeah::nurse:

I received my letter yesterday and it said that I had been admitted to the Shady Grove Campus too. I was a little surprised since I had applied to the Baltimore Campus. My husband told me that they called me this afternoon to tell me that they sent me the wrong letter and that they would send a corrected one. I was so relieved. I live closer to Baltimore and really did not want to make that drive to the other campus.

YAY TO U 2!!!!:yeah::up:

Congrats, congrats, congrats to everyone! I originally applied to Baltimore but then switched to Shady Grove. I just paid my deposit online this morning so it's definitely official. I'm so anxious to get 'the' packet, though.

Don't forget to print out the payment confirmation and send it off with the enrollment agreement!
