UMB 2010 Fall Applicants (BSN and CNL)

Published

Ok guys, this is the new thread for everyone who is applying to the UMB FALL 2010, BSN or CNL Program . Good luck to all.

Has everyone's status gone: Complete Ready for Review?

Geesh they are taking their time.. I guess the snow screwed everyone's timeline up...Good luck all and hope we will hear by tax time...

I just talked to Ms. Meaghan George, an admission specialist. She said all the decision should be made around mid April (Yes, I'm anxious too!!).

Did you apply to CNL or BSN I heard some BSN applicants have not heard yet.. If we do not hear by mid april I best just get my delegate and senate scholarship letter in whether I know or not.???:)

I just finished my ASN degree(Dec 2009) and passes the NCLEX so I applied to RN to BSN program. I have not had any luck in finding a job yet so I'm waiting to get the acceptance letter in order to apply for hospitals' scholarship

Hmmm, mid-April? This has surely been the longest 2 months and I know the next two weeks will seem even longer. Good luck to everyone out there waiting for the decision also. Please post when you all find out! I'm fairly sure I'd be going a little nuts with out this blog here to calm my nerves and let me know others are in the same boat as me, haha.

I am in the same boat as you...I already sent in my delegate scholarship application a couple of weeks ago. However, I was waiting to hear if I was accepted to UMB before sending in my senate app. There was a question on that app asking if you were accepted or still waiting acceptance to the institution. I figured that if I was able to check off the box that I was already accepted, then it would look better. The deadline for that scholarship is April 15, so if we won't be hearing back before then , I guess I will just have to send it in...

Someone I know who also applied to the CNL program for Fall 2010 just heard they got accepted today.

I applied to the BSN program, and have still not heard. My status says committee ready still. Mid-April, ugh. This is such a hard wait! Everybody let us know when you hear!

This is a letter I got when I emailed admissions: (Does anyone know how many CNL applicants apply and how many they actually take?)

Good morning,

We are sending out the next round of admission decision letters once we have heard confirmations back as to how many seats we still have available. We anticipate all admissions decisions will be sent out by mid-April.

I know there is a lot of anxiety, but the process is thorough and fair and we appreciate your patience!

Best,

Meaghan George

Ms. George is fast. As soon as she got my license # that I emailed her, she posted on my application status. Very impressing!!

My application still says "committee ready" also, but if they already sent out a first batch of acceptance letters, and I haven't received one that makes me ... hopefully I'll be in that "2nd" round of letters in Mid-April

I'm started to feel very disheartened. :( I wonder if the first round of CNL admits were more qualified than I am, or simply submitted their application materials earlier. I sure hope it's the former (the latter really upsets my sense of justice), but that leads me right back to feeling disheartened. I know it's not over until the "SIMS Lady" sings, but...

Then again, I started out on the JV squad in HS before making varsity. I wasn't the coach's first choice but I ended up playing first string! :)

I sincerely hope that all of us still waiting for a decision will see "ADMIT" glaring back at us soon!

I'm not sure how many "first admits" have really even received anything... I've only seen one person on here. I'm friends with two new grads from UMCP with GPAs around a 3.97 and 4.0 science for their entire undergrad career that have not heard anything. Maybe they're referring to the 2+2 program applicants. Students that started out at UMBC or UMCP as freshman and finished their pre-requisites with a 3.0 or better receive an automatic acceptance. I think they're waiting on them...but I guess that theory wouldn't sit for the CNL program.

You'll definitely hear by mid-april...just don't think about it!
