UMB 2010 Fall Applicants (BSN and CNL)

Published

Ok guys, this is the new thread for everyone who is applying to the UMB FALL 2010, BSN or CNL Program . Good luck to all.

Has everyone's status gone: Complete Ready for Review?

This is a letter I got when I emailed admissions: (Does anyone know how many CNL applicants apply and how many they actually take?)

Good morning,

We are sending out the next round of admission decision letters once we have heard confirmations back as to how many seats we still have available. We anticipate all admissions decisions will be sent out by mid-April.

I know there is a lot of anxiety, but the process is thorough and fair and we appreciate your patience!

Best,

I emailed her this morning too and she sent me the same letter via email. Im interpreting this as my changes of getting in are smaller at this point.

BSN applicants (esp. RN to BSN), are you up to share your GPA and TEAS score?

oh, and i got the same reply too...

I'm not sure how many "first admits" have really even received anything... I've only seen one person on here. I'm friends with two new grads from UMCP with GPAs around a 3.97 and 4.0 science for their entire undergrad career that have not heard anything. Maybe they're referring to the 2+2 program applicants. Students that started out at UMBC or UMCP as freshman and finished their pre-requisites with a 3.0 or better receive an automatic acceptance. I think they're waiting on them...but I guess that theory wouldn't sit for the CNL program.

You'll definitely hear by mid-april...just don't think about it!

I did not know that there was a 2+2 program at UMCP...interesting. I am at UMBC, so the people who are in the 2+2 program there heard back ages ago. So UMB should know by now whether or not these people will be attending in the fall.

Unfortunately, I am a CNL applicant who is still twiddling her thumbs.:uhoh3:

So I replied to Ms. George's email, that I can now see she sent everyone (now we know how she responds to us so fast ;) and this is what I got for you:

Me: My question is whether the applications that got in first are being reviewed first, or whether priority is being determined by GPA or other factors. Sorry, I was wondering about how the rounds of admission letters were being determined.

Ms. George: Everyone one complete by the time the Admissions committee started (end of February) was reviewed at the same time.

Really not much help but I'll take any piece of information right now. Going back through the posts in this thread and from what I know about other CNL applicants that have heard back, I can assume there have been 2 rounds of acceptance letters sent out so far, one around March 22nd, and the other March 31st (CNL program only).

I don't know about you guys but I'm ready to stop checking that SIMS thing and start filling out a new application for the spring.

So, from what I'm reading, it sounds like they accepted their "most qualified applicants" first and will notify the next set of applicants once they know how many people from that first round accepted their offer.

If you already heard back one way or the other- Let Maryland know asap your intentions to enroll so that they can let the rest of us know! Thanks for helping everyone out!

Good luck!

I wish the reason that I have not heard anything yet is only because I applied to the RN to BSN program and just turn in my license# last week

Shelly, when did you get your application in? Just wondering if there is a specific order they are going through the applications. It definitely makes sense for them to review the earliest applications first. Hopefully we all hear from UMD by April.

Hi, Dlo2005! My application was COMPLETE one week before it was due. The application was sent in ...jeeze....2-3 weeks before that? Some of my LORs actually got there before my application.

Hope this helps and good luck! I can't wait to meet you! :D

I still have not heard so i assume because I did things last minute this is why? maybe? I have only heard maybe two people in this thread that got accepted to the CNL program here...Good luck to all.. my application only says Complete ready for review.. they must of got a lot of Apps for fall..:)

Hey everyone- my status just changed to "Admit-Institution" for the CNL program! Anybody else have their status change today???

Congratulations SJT, no mine has not changed as of yet??:) and make that 3 I have heard about on this thread so far:)
