UMass Worcester GEP Fall 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone! I didn't see a UMass Worcester GEP Fall 2019 thread so I thought I would start one. I submitted my application in September. The last I heard was they were going to start to review the applications they have in hand at the end of September and would at some point start extending interviews. In a past info session, they said they have a rolling admissions process. I haven't heard anything more since then, so I'm just sitting tight.

There is a Facebook group for accepted students:

UMass Med GEP-DNP class of 2023.

Good luck to everyone who is waiting to hear back!

Did everyone just receive a financial aid package email a few minutes ago? The email though did not have anything about my application decision. Still waiting lol...

I’m in the same boat! Just got that email but have been waiting to hear about a decision after my interview on 2/5....

Nevermind then lol. Just got the letter in the mail that I was waitlisted for FNP. Hopefully the waitlist moves fast!

I was waitlisted as well.

Does anyone know how the waitlist works? Is it ranked/how do they decide who receives a seat?

I believe it's a rolling process. So, if you applied first and got waitlisted you would get the first available spot on the waitlist, people who applied after you get consecutive spots based on when they applied. Then as places in the class open up the name at the top of the list gets notified first. Thats how I understand it.

Hey guys, I just gave up my spot in acute care. Hopefully someone on the waitlist can have my spot. Good luck to everyone!

Anyone got off the waiting list for FNP yet?

Accepted to the GEP-DNP program (FNP track), but considering giving up the spot if I am accepted from the waitlist at my first choice

I chose the UMass program over the others I got into (BC, NEU, Simmons, MGH IHP and Regis) for various reasons. I'm curious for those of you who got into similar programs but ultimately also decided on UMass, what were the factors that made you choose UMass?

Just wanted to say that I gave up my spot in the GEP-DNP (FNP) program today, in order to attend a closer university. Hopefully they’ll contact someone from the waitlist soon ?

For anyone looking for advice on applying for the next cohort I started a blog with tips, tricks, resources...and my personal experience with this process. I plan on updating it while I'm in the program, but let's see how much time I have :). Good luck applying for 2020!

I applied to six schools, got into 5 (Umass is one of them!) and waitlisted at 1 (Yale).
