I just found out that I passed the pharmacology NLN exam. Next week I take the NLN nutrition exam. I hope to pass that exam so I wont have to take a nutrition class. The pharm exam was not hard at all in my opinion. I studied from my nursing school pharm book and took the test. I am more worried about the nutrition exam. The nursing class starts 4 Sept. I will let you know how it goes!

Gerry,
Thank you so much for keeping us updated on the online program. I am interested in this program as well. I have one year left at Regis College / Lawrence Memorial, due to graduate in Dec. 2008. I have a BS in Clinical Psychology so I will be able to transfer several credits. My plan is to enroll in the UMass program soon after taking (and passing, hopefully!!) my boards, but if possible I would like to start taking a class or two over the summer, I think there is a language requirement. Anyway, I would love to hear how you are balancing this program and working full time, the time committment, clinical requirements etc.
I am at the Dana-Farber, so hello neighbor !

Hi ladies! I graduated from the UMass RN-BSN program this past May, although I did the program through UMass Amherst, not Boston. It went really well and really quickly! Feel free to PM me if you have any questions I could maybe help you with!

Hi, I am just starting the UMASS RN/BSN online program...I got my license in July and I just had my first interview last week. I am excited to be going to school again (I love it; grad in May from Lawrence Mem/Regis). Any tips about starting a job as a brand-new newbie? I interviewed at one of the NSMC hospitals; won't know until next week if I got it but I was glad to have the interview experience (I know: it sounds like, "it's an honor just to be nominated! ) One of my instructors tells me that you have to give the first job at least 6 months before deciding about its rightness...Also, glad to hear that you found the NLN Pharm exam easy; I will be taking that also at some point (but I think we have almost until graduation to take it).
Have to go. Please check in with any tips or insights.

Hello,
I just finished all my requirements for my LPN to RN program and am due to graduate in October. Then it's off to UMBoston I decided. Glad to hear the NLN tests aren't so bad.
Are the references and essay still part of the admission requirements?
Gerry, keep us posted on your progress, I'll be following behind in your footsteps. Do you have a lot of other classes to take besides the nursing classes?

There are no essay's nor do you need a letter of reference. Just sign up for the class and you are on your way! It was that easy.
I must take 4 other classes. Human Growth, Statistics (there is a stats for health care professionals that is much easier than regular stats), and a language. Next Wednesday is the first day of "class" and it will be so weird sitting at home in my computer room vs sitting in a conventional classroom!
So I don't need to apply and get accepted to the RN to BSN program, you just sign up for classes? How do they know you have met the requirements for the program?
Well I guess you have to apply. I just went to the info session, turned in my transcripts, and payed the application fee and was accepted. Pretty much the only requirement is having an RN license.
Nice....sounds like the place for me.

Hi, Gerry,
I would love to hear more about your experience with the online program at UMASS Boston.
Do you have to follow their time frame to stay in the program?
Thanks
