UMass Boston fall 2014 Traditional BSN

I submitted my online application to umass boston on Jan. 25th. I had been checking my online application status daily and on Feb. 4th it said that decision has been made regarding my application and that I should receive a letter within 14 business days. I'm freaking out at this quick decision, and I don't know what it means. I thought I submitted strong application; my gpa is 3.91, dean's list, 83 composite score for the TEAS. I'm really nervous. Did anyone receive their letters from umass yet?

GK I also had my status updated on Feb 4th to "a decision has been made" and I also had a very strong application. I just checked the mail and there was a big white envelope from umass. I'm accepted! I was also worried about the quick decision. Keep checking that mail!

Congratulations on your acceptance! Hearing that also helps ease my anxiety. Still, I'm going to be running to the post office tomorrow to see if my letter has come in :)

Congrats, JR!! So exciting for you! Hopefully I will be joining you in the fall...I just checked the status of my application and it still says incomplete. UHG. So frustrating and making me nervous........it says they are missing two of my transcripts, but I know they got them because I got confirmation they did. Do you think it could be because my maiden name is on the two that are still listed as missing? Maybe I'll give them a call again.

Thanks to both of you! And as for your app being incomplete, when did you drop everything off? (I didn't want to re read all the posts, so sorry if you already mentioned it) I dropped mine off on jan 14th and it was incomplete until almost February

I applied on 1/17. I applied online, then had transcripts sent. Some were coming from Washington and had my maiden name. So, I don't know if that would affect how long it takes for them to update it. I know they were received prior to the deadline because I had confirmation. Would the fact that they still are missing online affect an admissions decision? It's saying incomplete on my Salem state application too!

OBrien have you tried calling umass? I had the same issue where my application said incomplete for a couple of days, but I called admissions I think and they were able to confirm that they received my transcripts. It would also give you the opportunity to explain to them that they may be under your maiden name.

I'm in for the Fall '14 semester!

I had applied (as a 2nd UMass Boston degree student) for the Spring '14 semester, and at first I wasn't accepted nor wait-listed. However, last weekend I received an email congratulating my acceptance with the option to start in the Fall. Spring already started so it's too late for me to start, so I'll matriculate in the Fall. I'm excited about going back to UMB after all these years (I graduated in 2000).

Yeah obrien I agree with GK. You should just give then a call Monday if it hasn't updated. I called them when my status said incomplete and they at least confirmed with me that they received my stuff, but it just hadn't updated yet.

as for UMBdude, I'll see you in the fall! Glad to see some other male nursing students other than myself

I emailed. But I think I'm just going to call in the morning on monday. Sometimes email doesn't get handled as fast as it would if you were on the phone. I would hate to have it affect my admissions decision..... Congrats, UMBDude!

My application still reads simply "complete." I'm getting pretty anxious. My GPA is 3.83 and had an overall score of 88 on the TEAS. Good luck everyone.
