Anyone out there apply? I have seen threats for previous years, but none for this year. Just thought I would get one going!

I have applied. Waiting for the letters to go out.

Any idea when they will go out? I've read in previous posts that some people know as early as the end of the month. Feeling pretty anxious. Did you apply anywhere else?

I applied! I've also read that people have found out by the end of February in previous years..or that they found out that they were in the "nursing pool". I'm not really sure what the nursing pool is though..

Hey there!

I dropped off my application on January 14th and it's been "complete" for about a week or so now. I just logged in to check the status this morning and it says "a decision has been made and you will receive a formal letter within 14 business days". I have NO IDEA what to expect as far as the decision.

To give you an idea of where I stand so we can all compare/contrast... I feel as though my application was very strong. I graduated with an associates in science (exercise science) last spring from Quincy College with a GPA of 3.8, and after all my pre reqs I have 4.0 in my sciences. I scored an 84 on my teas exam with a 90+ in math and 90+ In science. I also like to think that my essay was strong as well as my letter of recommendation, which was written by the director of the ES program at Quincy College.

To be honest, I'm worried about them already making a decision on my application. The deadline was 4 days ago and two of those days were weekend days. Most people on these threads mention being accepted to an "applicant pool" first, and they say that their application status usually reflects this. But like I said, mine already says that a decision has been made. It seems much more likely that they found a red flag to deny me rather than look at the app for a day or two and accept me. My fingers are crossed!

ANTICIPATION IS KILLING ME haha

That would be killing me too. I checked my status yesterday and it still said my application was incomplete online. The admissions office said that it was be cause of the volume of mail they have been getting, it takes a while to update the system. Anyways, sounds like your app is strong. So you shouldn't have much to worry about. I have a 3.7 over all and a 3.6 in sciences, and I scored a 75 on the TEAS. Admissions said they look for anything above 53. I have 4 years of healthcare experience in an ICU as a CNA. I also had a really great recommendation who knows me really well...I think my essay was great, it was from the heart about an influential person in my life (my son.) so, I guess we just sit around and wait at this point. Did you guys apply any where else? I applied to Salem State too. And planning on applying to Regis and Northeastern as well.

Your grades and scores are awesome, and 4 years in the ICU will help immensely! I'm rooting for you; I'd hate to see well qualified applicants shunted for lesser candidates. I applied to Quincy College and Bunker Hill, so UmassB is the only 4 year school I've applied to. It's definitely my #1 option if all goes well.

Like you said, we now sit around and wait :bookworm:

I mailed my application in the old fashioned way :) so I don't have an online account. Are they supposed to email/mail you something so I am able to log in and check my status? I applied at Massasoit and plan on applying to a few others..not sure yet. Best of luck though!

The way I applied was using the online application in which I submitted the app, the essay, and the $60 app fee. Once it was officially submitted, I was prompted that I would receive a letter in a week or so with an ID and password to follow my application status online. I then went over a few days later (in person) and handed in my transcripts, letter of rec, etc.

It only took a couple of days for me to get an email with my login ID and password, and an actual letter came in the mail a week later as they said it would. I just refer to the email now when I choose to look at my application status. There is a link directly in the email and i can just copy/paste the ID.

If you put your email on your application they may just email it to you, or you'll eventually get a letter with the login info, I assume.

That's how it all worked for me, at least.

Best of luck to you as well!

I applied online too. But I'm in Washington state right now so mailed all my transcripts. I had to overnight them....I have confirmation of them getting there, but I guess they will just take a few days to scan them into the system. Super frustrating. I have a really spotty academic past, which is my main concern. A bunch of withdraws, four different colleges, etc....but my current transcripts for my associates of science are honors and phi theta kappa. I hate the waiting! I'm 30....this shouldn't be this hard! Lol

Although I see how that can be frustrating, I wouldn't let it stress you out. My sister has a very spotty academic record, and then went back in her late 20s to correct it. Long story short, a few years later and she's an RN now :) I like to believe that they look at who you are now, as opposed to who you were back then.

Well, that's good to hear! I just hate all the waiting. Hopefully, I'll hear back soon...in the meantime, I'll just neurotically check my online status every day! :dead:
