UM ABSN SPRING 2019

Published

Hi guys!

I'm currently completing my undergrad+prereqs to apply in the next year to UM's ABSN program for the Spring 2019 session (Apps due next august). I know it's a very premature thread but I thought there might be other applicants for the Spring 2019 session who are already freaking out about apps like me. If any students who were accepted for previous threads could share their experience, tips, or stats here that would be incredibly helpful.

We got this.

They told me last week mine was under review but my status hasn't been changed.

It seems like the process isnt perfectly streamlined. They may have already decided on both of your applications but the status just didn't change. I've read in past forums that this happened to many students. That's why they tell you not to worry until you get the actual admission decision. Since the last group status changed to complete on the 13th and were notified of admissions on the 20th, I think we should hear by next Tuesday/Wednesday. The good part is that you know your application was reviewed! Unfortunately, the waiting game continues!

Hoping we all get in together!

That's a good point! Wishing the best of luck to both of you as well!

Is it weird that I look forward to Mondays now because I am hoping to hear from Miami and other schools? Anyone else?! ;)

Fingers crossed for everyone!

Status in CaneLink: still Incomplete and no messages

Same here ! Can't wait for the week to start ! Lol

I finally submitted my application Wednesday, I have been holding off because I am nervous about the required deposit. I've done a lot of research on financing for a second degree, but has anyone settled on what they believe is the best loan option yet?

Hey everyone congrats to those admitted!

I will be submitting my application this week.

Kind of a bummer to find out it is rolling admissions, at least for my case scenario.

What prompted me to apply to UOM is that I was accepted to Duke's ABSN program last week. Assuming I do not get decent aid (find out this week), I may look at other schools. Applied to Hopkins as well.

About me: UC Berkeley graduate '2018

Quick question: Am I able to submit my app without the recommendation? I anticipate my professor will have it in this week, but since it is rolling admission, I figure get in everything in asap. NursingCas grades are verified already through previous program apps, thankfully.

Essentially that applications that were up for review on Tuesday, June 26, will have to wait for official notification from the admissions office, though decisions have already been made. Also mentioned to keep checking CaneLink.

My status is complete but no other changes or messages yet. I think we should be notified of acceptance by this evening, like 6pm or tomorrow. That is if it ends up as consistent as the prior group who was notified exactly a week later. Fingers crossed that we find out today! I'll keep you all posted if I find out anything.

I think we will find out tomorrow. Giving up on checking canelink today before I fry my login. The last 2 cycles of acceptances were given out on the 6th and on the 20th, both Wednesdays. :nailbiting: This is the longest week of my life.

I hope today being a holiday doesn't further postpone admission letters. Boo. Happy 4th!

Hi everyone! Where are you guys checking on canelink to see incomplete vs. complete? I don't see any admissions section in the student center with that info.

Hi kells 231! In Student Center if you go to the "Self Service" drop down menu in that top bar, click on "Student Admission", then "Admission Status" in the pop-up, your application #, date, and status should come up for you. I have also seen in past forums that people have received news through the "Message Center".

Found it, thanks!!
