  1. It really depends on the semester. As a FL resident it is enough to cover tuition and you get some money back (not a wholeee lot though, specially in Summer). I got around 10,000 for living expenses in the Spring (taking out the max loans) and around 2,800 for Summer.
  2. Good luck everyone! we had our orientation and were told that they were currently interviewing you guys. they also mentioned that the competition was really really tough. I think the were interviewing around 140 students and that the 100th student on the list still had a GPA of 3.75.
  3. If money isn't an issue and one would be accepted to both, I would go UM.
  4. Hi guys, congrats on your interview invites! I can confirm that last year they had a total of 194 applicants, of which they interviewed 136 for 45 spots. Our interview was not bad at all; definitely more personality questions than anything. However, I'm unsure how this will change with the GRE not being considered this year. Good luck!
  5. Hi, I think last year we did not hear back until late April, the interviews were done throughout May. Final decision was sent back to us late May (about a month after we heard about interviews).
  6. Yeah that's their vibe. You wouldn't say the interview makes your acceptance but it can definitely make your denial. In the sense, it won't make a difference unless they see sense you really wouldn't be a good fit in the program. So just don't be too crazy and you're good. They really focus on grades, gre, ccrn etc
  7. They let us take out the max for the direct grad loans. I think this semester it was like 22,000 and tuition was around 12,000. So you get like 10,000 for the semester if you choose to max out the loan. Interview was really chill. We had an info session on zoom and then broke off to different meeting rooms. It was a panel with 3 professors. Like I said before, wayyyy chiller than I expected. One case scenario and like 4/5 personality questions. Took like 10/12 minutes.
  8. Hey, I did have ccrn. Did it in January. My GPA was 3.96 for my BSN. They recalculate your science GPA using certain courses (some don't count), I'm not even sure how much I had but probably in the 3.55 range. My GRE I did it around mid March. I was worried with the timing since it takes two weeks to deliver but you just need to do it before the application deadline. I got a 317. My letters of rec were from my manager and from one of the intensivist supervisors. The interview was honestly super chill. They did not grill me like I heard UM did to some of their applicants. Mostly personality questions and one super simple case scenario. Nothing more. Like I told someone else it's pretty down to the numbers.
  9. Hi! So far it's OK. Really not as difficult as I thought (lots of reading) but we've made up a good system for dividing it amongst some of my classmates. It's pretty much busywork classes at this point—research, basic patho/pharm. patho and pharm are interesting but they're not focused towards anesthesia at all, so IDK how helpful they're going to be in the future. Right now it's all online but next semester we already start going on campus, once a week.
  10. Hi guys, Im in the 2023 program that just started in January. Let me know if you have any questions.
  11. I got the acceptance email!! I interviewed the 12 at 11 am! Sooo happy. Who’s going to start the facebook group? ?
  12. As far as I know tomorrow is the last interview date. They’ve told multiple people that they will get back to us within two weeks so this week is it!
  13. Don’t worry about the time. Mine was literally 12 minutes from when they started the video to when I logged out. I speak really fast so I finished all the questions really quick, I think they started making up questions on the spot. Don’t know if that’s good or bad LOL. I’ve heard it’s really based on your stats ??‍♀️
  14. Oh no! ? explain your situation. Do your interview anyways. Don’t give it up!
