Ukiah Valley Medical Center Summer 2011 Versant Residency Program

Published

Hello,

I wanted to start this thread so those who are applying to the summer 2011 Ukiah Valley Medical Center's Versant Residency RN program have a place to communicate. Feel free to post about any experiences with Ukiah, the hospital, and the application process. I would also love to her from past Ukiah Valley Versant Residents if any of you are out there! :)

i went yesterday. no one asked about the pay... the Versant info has a link to the "Career Ladder" and it also has no information about pay. did anyone that went ask? what is the starting pay? i'm sure it will be fine, but just curious. May 4th is next week!

the program manager referenced the career ladder stating we'd discuss starting pay with HR once we're hired. so yeah no one asked cuz it was kind of made clear that no further info would be given. yay. haha shows how "flexible" we are - no one even cares about pay!

the Career Ladder link (on website and in their PowerPoint) has no information when you click in it... just brings you back to the general info about the program. i wouldn't say we're flexible, i'd say we are desperate.

does anyone have any insight about what the interview questions are like?

haha yeah "flexible" is just a less depressing way to look at it. i've only heard 1st round interview is speed-dating style and really scary.

Hmmm.... scary speed dating style? That sounds nerve wracking.

Did you guys turn in your reference letters in a sealed envelope? Also, did you type up the questionnaire answers? I think I'm going to type mine.

Thanks!

just got back from the open house. really cool little town and quite a nice little hospital.

first round of interviews is a 5 minute "speed dating" format. there is a second and third round of interviews that include unit managers and directors of nursing. 16 new grads hired (14 m/s, 2 ED), with 8 of the 16 training in both m/s and ED. the actual program starts july 18, uninterrupted for 18 weeks. the 8 that are chosen to work in both dept's start on june 13. career ladder is ADN $32.29/hr, BSN $33.69/hr, MSN $34.xx/hr.

hope this helps!

thanks BigMan for the helpful info :)

Those are different dates than I was told...Do you mind if I ask where you got that info? July was 2010.

thanks for the $ info.

those dates are almost correct. the 8 chosen for the CPOE (Computer Physician Order Entry) portion start on June 13, then join the other 8 when the regular program starts on July 18th. this is for 2011.

forgot to also say that 14 are M-S positions, and 2 are ED

did not turn in letters in a sealed envelope - have my reference letters electronically so I can print them and use them more than once - have permission from letter-writers to do so......

yes, i answered the questions in the Word doc using the computer.
