Ukiah Valley Medical Center Summer 2011 Versant Residency Program

Published

Hello,

I wanted to start this thread so those who are applying to the summer 2011 Ukiah Valley Medical Center's Versant Residency RN program have a place to communicate. Feel free to post about any experiences with Ukiah, the hospital, and the application process. I would also love to her from past Ukiah Valley Versant Residents if any of you are out there! :)

the way i understood the salary scale was that for the first 18 weeks (or longer for those who will start the cpoe program) the residents are paid $30.00/hr, then when they complete the 18 week program they are paid according to the career ladder which is determined by degree, specialty certification, and time in (as was broken out above). they also stated that once the program was over we may be scheduled to working part-time.

during the residency, only 2 of the residents will be cross trained in the ed and half (8)will start on june 13 doing the cpoe a couple days a week with one day devoted to classroom time (they will begin that part of the residency program early but will not begin the clinical/unit training until july or later). then the other 8 will start on july 18 and begin the classroom day with the two clinical days for the 18 weeks. for the clinical hours it seems like they have 12 hour shifts, 0500-1700 or 1700-0500.

So now the waiting begins. Wishing the best to everyone. Is there anybody out there who doesn't want to work there after going to the open house?
