uk nurses who have come to the usa

Published

I am in the usvi, and have been here nearly a year, maybe all the nurses who have posted their news about immigration, can now post about the differences in the us hospitals. I dont think that american doctors and nurses fully understand where we come from, and the working environment of the nhs, its only when we get here that we can understand the differences. I am sure that stateside hospitals are different even from here. and that they also vary from state to state, but maybe nurses who are waiting to come will be able to pick up some tips and know more than us what to expect.

christine....from wales to scotland to united states virgin islands, and then to the states, in january.

I am pleased for her she must be relieved I know last year she was anxious where she she was going to be, and I was like her didnt know until the sept and I went in the Dec.

congratulations to tiggerlover, I only interviewed for a job after I had the embassy interview date. so we left exactly 4 weeks later after I had given my month's notice in work.

so we had no idea where we were going to be until then.

Had anybody who's now over in the US travel on a return ticket and just not bother using the return? Looking at flights for september and there are better deals and better flights (direct) for return tickets!! Wondered if would be better going for a return. Not that we're planning on using them!!

My agency bought all the tickets and I paid them for the families ticket. They all had a return of a couple of weeks, I now wonder if that wasnt a trick to ensure we didnt run away because you wouldnt know if you hated it or not by 2 weeks lol

i looked for tickets and it was cheaper to buy returns for some reason, which is a bit daft!!

which airline did you fly with kay?

Direct with British Airways, dont buy them OGP buy them for you and your family-you cant go until they say it is ok. They dont rip you off so dont worry.
