UK Nurse Registration Full Application and Assessment stage before OSCE

Published

Hi People

I am a UK born citizen trained in Australia hence I am going via the overseas trained route. I passed my CBT test and am in the full application and assessment stage.

I am interested in sharing information with people who are also in this stage of the application.

I commenced my application in 2013 under the old process which was rejected due to lack of clinical hours. I received a letter from NMC advising me of the new process. Like many people on this forum, this entire process has been long, drawnout, frustrating and tedious for me!!!!!!!

Well that's the weird thing, johnnnius. I submitted the online application on 7/14. I know they had all my documents in their possession by 8/6, but at that time they still hadn't figured out the whole "technical error" thing, so there was one document that they had had since April that wasn't showing up as "received" even though they had it. When they figured that issue out they sent me an email saying that as of 8/18 all my documents had been received and my file was now ready for assessment. Then it was the very next day on 8/19 that I received my decision letter. Makes no sense. They had to have been "assessing" as they received stuff, or else they put me in the queue when I submitted the online portion. Because there's no way I was put in the queue and assessed within a day. If you were put in the queue on 7/10 you're still well within their 40-70 days, but still that's got to be frustrating that it's so inconsistent from person to person! Best of luck to you! I bet your DL is well on its way :)

@Nursemicky

I hope I will be receiving my DL soon, just like you. Good luck on your OSCE.

hi all...its been 7 weeks since i went on the queue after resubmission of additional documents, and still no decision letter yet...i called NMC to check the progress early this week, only to be informed by the agent...my file is still in the queue and they have not started assessing it yet...looks like i am in for a long wait..its been a year trying to get registered its proving very difficult...

Anyone who got their decision lately...or this week...thats the only thing that keeps me going...it gives me hope that i will get mine some day....

Hi Dee1986,

Well, we are praying for the same thing now. Let us just keep our hopes up. It's definitely worth the wait.

Hi all

I have just logged on my online account and found out the following

Do anybody know anything about this ? Should I have to resubmit this? Would you get email if you have to resubmit anything? I have contacted the NMC and they told me I am still on the assessment queue and there is no update yet.

What should I do???

Hi there, I have the same dilemma as you, I have the same message for two of my documents, though I have contacted NMC about this and have been told not to take any action as my file is already on the queue. However, on the other forum some people are told to send all the blank forms as they needed the bar codes in order for them to start assessing their file. I have yet to confirm again with NMC what is the best thing to do.

I found more information required thing in my account and then received an email stating that I need to confirm my date of birth, I called them yesterday and I was informed to email the confirmation to them which I did...I am just hoping that it won't put more delays on my application after 9 weeks of being in the queue for the 2nd time...

Hi Dee1986

Seems strange that they should ask for your date of birth. Did you upload your passport and birth certificate on page one of the online application portal? Also did you enter your DOB on that page...

I hope they are not finding even more excuses to delay our applications....

Hey UK gal...story of my life..I received an email today from NMC asking for additional documents, the funny thing is they asking for the same documents they asked for on the 3rd of July 2015, before I went on the assessment queue. I called and spoke to the manager and it looks like they did not update my file after I sent in the additional documents...anyway that's just me speculating, so the manager is going to follow it up with the assessing officers, because it looks like the additional documents I sent never reached my file....so my file might have been re-assessed without the additional documents I sent the nmc....so I will update you what happens after the manager calls me back on Monday....so all these times I called and checked if they received the documents and the police clearance I uploaded was just a waste of time...

It's a sad story...I am about to give up...

Don't give up. That's what nmc wants you to do and it's ridiculous. They apparently lost one of my papers too until I called and asked about it. I also wrote a complaint, since I had something to say.

When they responded, I finally got my decision letter last week.

:) you should have yours soon too.

Good on you foxtrotunicorns

Did they give you the decision letter the same time they responded to your complaint. Or did you get it shortly afterwards?

Believe me I have called them up complaining numerous times. When they tried to fob me off with missing documents issue I pestered them and eventually spoke to a more senior person. From then they re-uploaded my documents and put me in the assessment queue AGAIN but from 26 August. I am still, however, awaiting a decision. The prospect of waiting a maximum 70 days is so daunting.

Hello nurses!

I was reading from the start of this forum and finally reached the end and decided to sign up. Like most of you, I'm now in the full application and assessment stage. And I'm a bit concerned about my police clearance. I got mine last July 9, 2015 and submitted my online application on August 27. Barcoded documents followed last Friday (September 4). It appears that my NBI clearance will have been 3 months old by October 9. Should I be worried?

When you start the assessment stage, ( which is when all your barcoded forms were already uploaded and it will take minimum 15 days, and maximum 6 weeks to be uploaded after they received it and if it will not be lost) your NBI clearance should be still 3 months old.

The agency told me to take a new police clearance when i submit my online application. So it would still be on the time frame.

As in my case, i got NBI on april 28, submitted my online app on may 26 ( i am working overseas so i have no choice but to get my NBI early) started my assessment on july 1. Then got hold of my DL on Aug. 20.

If by sept. 30 you will be on the assessment stage, no need to worry, but if not, then prepare another 1...

So as long as my documents are all received and uploaded before October 9, I shouldn't be worried.

I just hope they speed things up a little. They should have received everything last Monday.

Thanks for the reply! :cat:
