UI Chicago GEP Spring 2012

Published

Anyone planning to apply to UIC's GEP for winter/spring 2012? (http://www.uic.edu/nursing/prospectivestudents/gep-about.shtml) The application opened on January 15 and is due March 1.

I just finished the primary application and am waiting to receive the secondary application to send out recommendation requests. Their application cycle is a bit odd and inconvenient, since most other places that start in the fall require deposits by late March into early April, and UIC doesn't inform you of your status until late April. But in the end, it's still a great program and worth a shot.

Congratulations, misspriss!!!!!

Congrats guys!! This is making me a little nervous because I think last year the adult/geriatric applicants heard back when the acute care folks did. But, regardless of my status, I'm so happy that you guys have made it this far!! Woohooo!! :w00t:

Anyone waiting to hear from Administrative Studies??

Thank you guys for your wishes. I am sending out good luck to all of those who haven't heard back yet!!!! There is still a chance yet!

rachel- you are so sweet! I hope you hear something soon!!!

Buzzj- I didn't see times either but did your email happen to have the list of everyone copied in??? I am sooooooooooo nervous!! Maybe we can select similar times and meet up there!!!

Rachel- Do not lose hope! There is still a week and a half and if your knowledge and information that you shared on this website is any indication, I bet you are a top candidate.

Miss Priss it did have everyone copied in (however it could be just for April 4th) and not all applicants (however I did have a secret hope that it was just six of us...meaning we all got in!...one can dream right :) )

I have availability from mid morning on so that is what I emailed anna..what about you? it would be great to meet after its all done and recap. keep me posted.

buzzj,

I was also secretly hoping that it was us 6 and that we got in as well!!! I'm crossing all my fingers and toes that this is true!!!! I am open all day on Monday. I have A&P II at 6pm but may work it out with my prof. to miss class that day. It is a special occassion after all and so far I have perfect attendence... :yeah:

I GOT AN INTERVIEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Waaaahooooooooooo!! YEAH!

They actually called me about it. I guess the email they sent me bounced back to them. I don't know why because they sent it to the correct email address and I've gotten every other email that has been sent out. I am so excited. Now, time to prep for that interview. Oh goodness...I'm nervous!! :heartbeat

Also, thanks for the kind words, guys!! I hope everyone else gets an interview too!! It's good to know you've got people rooting for you! :)

Congrats!!!!!!!! My email came from a different address than the CON or Julie Kim ones. Maybe your spam picked it up?

I'm already getting mentally prepared for the interview...

Does anyone know what kind of attire is normally acceptable for a graduate interview? I've never been on one and don't know if more business like a dress/pants suit, black pants and a dressy top or what... I'm so nervous!!!

Congratulations, CLO! I, too, will be interviewing for the FNP specialty.

I know good news will be coming to everyone soon! However, I completely understand how hard the wait is!

"They" don't say that patience is virtue for nothin'!!!

Good luck!

Hey all! Congrats on the interviews! UIC GEP FNP is my first choice (I live in Chicago) and I'll be applying for Spring 2013. Out of curiosity, if any of you have a minute to spare, could you post a summary of your application, so I know what they're looking for in a strong applicant? (If you know of somewhere else on the site where this is posted, please let me know!) Thanks!

wow, congratulations to all who got an interview, I'm still patiently waiting, although my nerves are far from being patient, I hope your interviews go well and you all are accepted. Good luck everyone.

Congratulations, misspriss!!!!!

I am still waiting on an interview, I have not gotten one yet but we have till April 4th, it's hard not to freak out seeing other people getting interviews but none of them is from our department so I believe we still have lots of hope. I will keep my fingers crossed and pray for both of us, hopefully we will get in.
