Hi everyone! I'll be applying to UH Sugarland's second degree bsn program this upcoming spring. I have a bachelors in Biology. I would love to hear from others who are applying as well. Best of luck!

Does anyone know when we are supposed to hear back regarding interviews?

From reading last year and the year before's thread they were notified around the 2nd to 3rd week of September. Cross fingers its soon!

How many emails have y'all received from UH? Just 1 confirming the application was received?

Hey guys,
I'm a current student in this program. Let me know if y'all have any questions.

@dannysalvador94, thank you for joining this group. What should we expect for interview day? How are you finding the program thus far?

Interviews might be different this year due to COVID-19. My interview was in mid-September at the Sugar Land campus. During interview day we were spread out into small groups to do different activities throughout the day (drug exam, badge photos, poster presentations, tour, etc.). Most of the people that went to the interview were accepted. We actually found out about a week later that we were in.

Thank you so much for responding. Yes, Covid-19 will most likely change things for this year.

@dannysalvador94 thanks so much for offering your expertise!

I have several questions-

Do you remember what day of the week the interview was? I am moving from Missouri at the end of the month and am trying to time it out appropriately.

Also random but, do the profs correspond exams to where they’re spaced out...?

And lastly do you live close to campus? If so, do you feel this is a necessity for how much time you spend there?

My interview fell on a Wednesday and we were notified on Monday that we were accepted into the program. Exams will be every Tuesday. But just a heads up, you'll have clinical paper work due and clinical check offs the day before.
I have moved twice this year, I used to live in Sugar Land which is about a 1 mile away from school (5 minute drive max) and I'm currently living in in the Stafford area which is about 12 miles (15-20 minutes drive). Honestly, it doesn't make a difference where you live since your clinical sites are scattered all over Houston. I would drive to campus 2-3 times during the week for lecture, studying, exams. I hope I answered your question.
