Ugh. I'm #6 on the wait list

:sniff:

So, I found out last week that I was accepted to one of the schools I applied to but they had to put me on the waiting list because they filled the slots before my application was complete. I found out today that I am #6 on the list. :sniff:

I am so bummed! I'm still waiting to hear from 4 other schools, but I thought this school was my "shoe in".

6 is pretty good, our school has had up to 20!

My glass is totally half empty right now. :chuckle

I'll tell you #6 isn't bad..not bad at all. I had a friend on 3 waiting lists..she was around #40 on one schools, #27 on another and at the bottom of the 3rd.

There's a great chance that 6 people who are IN the school will not attend, for a variety of reasons. Could be that they applied to several schools and decide to go to another school other than the one you are #6 on, or people just change their minds, or they can't finance school, or the are getting divorced since filing their app..there are all kinds of reasons people who are accepted don't go..#6 maybe your lucky number!!

From what I've read on this site you will probably get in. I know 2 people who were finally accepted and had to put it off for a semester as they weren't made aware of the decision until less than a month before school was to start.

I would go under the assumption you will get in so you can prepare accordingly.

I think "6" sounds like pretty good odds from what I've heard/seen...I'd be making sure all your little ducks are in a row because it's still likely to happen...there are many reasons people don't accept a spot -- they move, get PG, get in another program, change their minds, etc....

I'll be thinking good thoughts for you....pls let us know!! :)

I would say your chances are pretty good of getting in. I know it must stink to be so close to getting in but hang in there. I bet you hear something before June?? When does the program start? I was lucky and have been accepted into three programs and have just had a chance to turn the paperwork back around to two of the programs declining the space offered to me. Good luck.

I agree with the other posts. There are alot of reasons why some of the original students may not begin. I know that the school I'm trying to get

in has them 'dropping like flies' the first week or two. Just can't handle

the work load or were not realistic about the program & what it entails.

Keep your chin up!!!! I have a feeling i'm gonna end up as an alternative myself. I have to wait about three weeks to find out. Best of luck to you!!!
