UFV January 2020 Intake

World Canada CA Programs

Published

I will be applying into the Bachelors of Science in Nursing program at UFV for January 2020 Intake.
Currently have A-English B-Bio B-Chem and a B-Math of which math I will be upgrading this summer to an A, hopefully.

I am also a RCA and have a lot of volunteer experience as well in the health care field

Would this be a strong enough application? Also, if anyone has experienced the information session or interview please do mention how it works and if there's any way to prepare or sort of get a better idea on what they're expecting.

Also, what kind of grades did you have when applying to both schools with your high school marks and pre-requisites, if you don't mind sharing.

Any other experience that you may have had which made you stand out?

Hey guys! I'm applying to the January intake as well. I've applied to UFV a couple of times, and its extremely competitive. I just finished upgrading my high school courses, and have A's in all of them. I have 6 years worth of volunteer experience in different hospital units. I'm really hoping that it'll work out for this intake! Good luck to everyone! Hopefully we can all help each other with the application process ?

Do you mind sharing what your grades were before you upgraded and applied the first time around? ?

Hi everyone,

This is my second time applying to the nursing program at Ufv. I applied last year but was rejected because I had 2 B's and 2 A's (understandable, I didn't think I was going to get in but applying was worth a shot anyway lol). I upgraded now and am applying with all A's. 95% in bio, 92% in chem, 87% pre-calc, and an A- in ENG 105 (they took my English 105 mark instead of high school English). I have a year of experience volunteering at ARH, 3 months of experience job shadowing at ARH, and 68 hours at Menno Home. I really hope to get in this time and good luck to all of you applying as well!

Hi!

Has anyone been invited to the January 2020 intake information session where you write the essay?

Thanks

From looking at the forum for the last January intake, it looks like they start inviting people around October 2nd! ? Is this your first time applying?

Hey sta13,

I received the email on Tuesday also mentioning the application is being reviewed. Hopefully we hear back soon!

I received an email last Fridays saying this:

"The initial academic review of your application is complete and has been forwarded to the program area for further review."

I assume they process applications in the order that they were received though, and I sent in my supporting docs right before the deadline.

I also received the email on Tuesday

Hey y'all!!

Just wondering if anyone is able to create or access a myufv account? In the email about the application being reviewed, it said that those invited to an info session will receive their invite through their student email on their myufv. I tried to make an account with my student ID and it didn't work. I called the schools IT department too and they couldn't figure it out either. Does anyone know if they will email your personal email or is it your myufv account?

Ty ?
