  1. I focused less on structure / grammar for the written interview questions, as opposed to what I did last time. I think that made it easier to convey my personality, as well as give more detailed answers. If you email health studies, they will usually give you some feedback as to where to focus your energy.
  2. Mine too! Woohoooooo!
  3. I'm assuming there was probably more than one 9:00am meeting. The administrator of mine said that there was supposed to the 12 in our group. Does anyone know what date we should be hearing back about admissions?
  4. I was also in the info session last night. I asked about the degree holders in the chat, and Adrien said that they will be held to the same GPA requirements and competition. I think that means that if you've got a 3.7 and a degree holder has a 3.6 - you'd get the spot, but if you both had a 3.6 then preference could be given to the degree holder.
  5. So did I, at 1:30 today.
  6. Did they say when invites for the interviews would go out? I had to duck out of the info session early for an online class im taking.
  7. I believe a access to a car is required because you’ll need to commute for practicums.
  8. BCIT does a condensed 6 credit A+P course, it’s BHSC1200. When I did it last September, it was two 3 hour lectures, and a 3 hour lab each week. It was totally manageable - I did it while working full time and volunteering. Im not sure if other schools allow you to do them concurrently.
  9. As long as your documents are submitted before the deadline, you're good.
  10. That's what I understood as well. I've tried contacting the school - calling the registrars office, emailing the transfers department multiple times. I can't get an answer from them, so I was hoping someone else would have the information.
  11. @s_d97 I'm sure that there have been successful applicants with a B, but I don't personally know. The interview questions are broad, and are more about your skills and experiences. The essay is nursing specific, and opinion based. @futureBSN20211 I was told I needed to elaborate on my interview answers more. I find it so much easier to communicate with people face-to-face, so the detached and impersonal written answers were way harder for me. It's also faster to answer verbally that it is to type, so the 3 minute time limit per question was difficult. I knew right away that I had bombed it. Hopefully they will have a better system for the next intake, considering personality and the ability to interact with people is so important for nurses.
  12. Hi all! There are 48 seats for Winter intakes, and 32 seats for Fall intakes - this is because the fall intake with eventually combine with an LPN bridging cohort. And don't stress too much about grades! They're only worth a portion of the points! You can absolutely make up for less than ideal grades with the interview. I've applied twice. First was Winter 2020 and I was waitlisted, pending an open seat. Second, I applied for Fall 2020 and was rejected. Because of the current pandemic, interviews were transitioned from in person, one on one, to written answer, zoom group interviews. I found that format MUCH harder. I'm much more of a people person, and find it hard to convey my personality over text - which apparently they found too haha! I'm not sure if I will apply for UFV again, or try my luck with another school. Pre-req grades I applied with: Chem11 A- Bio12 A+ Math085 A- Engl105 A- And additional credits: A+P (BCIT) A- Stats104 A Soc101 C- As well as approximately 100 volunteer hours in harm reduction.
  13. Has anyone else transferred credits to Langara from BCIT? I'm having a bit of a panic because admissions told me they have a different grading scale for BCIT credits, but I can't find any info on it and my emails to the transfer department are not being answered. I got 80% in A+P at BCIT, which they deem an A-, but Langara recorded it at a B+. With A+P being a 6 credit course, it's dropped my GPA quite a bit. I'm worried that the same might happen with the credits I'm transferring from UFV (A- and A, but I'm not sure of the percentages). If anyone has any info on this, it would be so appreciated!
  14. Hi everyone! Any advice you can give me would be super appreciated! I previously planned on attending UFV, but have been wait listed and want to make sure I'm looking at all my options. I have completed all of Langara's pre-reqs except for the additional English elective. I want to take that at Langara, as well as retake Into to Soc. Do I need to, or can I, apply for the Foundation in Health Studies Citation to complete those two classes? Thanks!
  15. I think you have to be registered as a student at UFV before you can register for the class. Try reaching out to an advisor to get the ball rolling - there's a contact email on the website. ********** is an incredible professor, sign up for her course if you can!
