I will be applying into the Bachelors of Science in Nursing program at UFV for January 2020 Intake.Currently have A-English B-Bio B-Chem and a B-Math of which math I will be upgrading this summer to an A, hopefully.
I am also a RCA and have a lot of volunteer experience as well in the health care field
Would this be a strong enough application? Also, if anyone has experienced the information session or interview please do mention how it works and if there's any way to prepare or sort of get a better idea on what they're expecting.

I have applied there too. There will be interviews and on-site writing essay after the program session. so I think they will look into it as well. Health experience should definitely be a positive point! what is a RCA? I am legit applying from Finance background, I worked as Financial Analyst and started volunteering at Canadian blood donation and plan to do more in summer before submitting my application. Did you submit everything?
Registered Care Aide.
I will be applying around the end of July because I needed to upgrade one of my high school courses.

A friend of my applied for this last intake (Fall 2019) and was told that applicants needed a mininum 3 A's and 1 B to be considered. She had 2 A's and 2 B's and was told she would need to upgrade her courses in order to be considered.
I don't want to be the bearer of bad news. But you will need to upgrade your highschool courses if you want to attend the nursing Program at UFV.
Good luck!

Curious does ufv use 4.0 or 4.33 grading scale for gpa with high-school prerequisites

UFV uses a 4.33 grading scale and I do believe they use it for your high-school GPA. So that might increase some people's B's to A's or A-'s
Good Luck!
Increase peoples B's to A's or A-'s? How does that work? I have high B's in 2 of the courses but when I spoke to the adviser she hadn't mentioned anything like that?
I copy and pasted. This is what I was referring to regarding 4.0 or 4.33 gpa grading scale and whether ufv uses this. In Alberta high schools 80% is equivalent to an A grade. Where in BC you need a 86% for an A grade.

Thanks Kathy.
I was just going to explain this, but you've beat to it!
Since joining I have received 2 offers. One I turned down and one I am thinking about taking. Only because there is no guarantee after nursing track that you will be accepted to the BSN program.
Received two offers from UFV that is? I'm so stressed out because my grades aren't the best and most of the schools that I do have more chances of getting into are so far away from home...
I was hoping for UFV but like Adelinna mentioned as well, 1 A and 3 high B's probably won't be enough to get in. So far Im upgrading only one of the 3 courses I received a B in so will still trying applying for Jan 2020.
nay018 if you have 3 high B's it may be worth it for you to find out definitely whether you will be graded on 4.0 or 4.33 gpa scale.
My application shows 4.0 for all A's and 3.0 for all B's regardless if they are high B's or not.
So I am not entirely sure how they grade you.
