U.S.A. Florida

Hello!

It's only May but I am already working on getting my ducks in a row for the Post-bacc application. I thought it would be nice to start a thread so applicants can support each other through the process! I know I have a million questions already and I am trying hard not to pester admissions.

I am so excited to be almost done with my prerequisites and I am looking forward to finally applying this Fall!

I would love to hear about everyone's background, projects, questions, and hopefully we can help each other out.

Good luck to all! We got this!

mirandagoss, did you figure this out? I am having a problem with this too. I was thinking maybe we need to request to pick up our transcripts in person and then scan them and upload them to nursingCAS?

This transcript thing is very confusing. I emailed Kenneth and he said I do not need to send in any transcripts to nursingCAS and that we only need to manually enter the pre recs. I sent my official transcripts to UF when applying for the postbac so hopefully that is enough. Is everyone else sending official transcripts to nursingCAS?

I'm not.

I sent in a PDF of my unofficial transcripts just in case, but I don't think its necessary.

Does anyone know what the difference between Summer A/C and SUmmer B is? And if you sent to the post-bacc application for one can you switch it to the other?

Hi everyone,

I am trying to decide which campus I should select on my application.

I know someone left a bad review about the Jacksonville campus. Anyone know if Gainesville is supposed to be better?

I live in Tennessee and only heard that crime rates in Jacksonville are pretty bad so I am leaning towards Gainesville right now. Any recommendations?

Hi! Does anyone know the average GPA they typically accept for this program. I am applying for Summer 2019. Thanks!

Hey! I have lived in Gainesville for quite awhile it's much smaller than Jax and is mostly made up of college students. So I think it's a great place for school. I've always felt safe here. I've been to Jax many times and have family there. It's very large and spread out and like any big city it will have more crime but I've never had any issues there but then again I don't go into the bad parts of town lol. I'm applying to both campuses. I hope to get into the Gainesville campus mostly because I live here but if I get into the Jax campus, I'm going to take it. You just have to make sure You rent in a decent area and you should be fine. So I wouldn't worry too much! When we find out if we got in or not I'm sure people will be discussing where they will be living and other things like that! :)

Hello Guys,

I am currently applying to the summer accelerated program, my questions to you is, do we actually need to make a personal statement aside from the questions posted on NursingCAS? do they give evaluation point for each criteria on the application? I been reading the bad reviews about the Jax campus and i am now nervous, i have two kids and i dont know if i should consider relocating to Gainesville? Good Luck to you all.

I don't think there is statement apart from the answer to the 10 questions. At least I didn't submit anything else!

I have two kids as well and I am also nervous about the Jax campus reviews. However relocating to Gainesville is a bridge too far for me. If I'm lucky enough to get into Jax, I'll try to make the best of it. I can absolutely see the appeal of being in Gainesville, though. It's a tough call! I hope you find a solution that works for you. Good luck!

@Rosetintmyworld Thank you for your reply!! I went ahead and submitted my application for the Jax campus. Let's just hope it's not as bad as people say it is hahah

I emailed Kenneth Wynn and he said that saving the transcripts as a PDF and uploading them is fne. I sent him the PDF that I saved to make sure it was okay and he approved.

This is all so confusing!
