UF accelerated BSN Summer 2019

Published

Hello!

It's only May but I am already working on getting my ducks in a row for the Post-bacc application. I thought it would be nice to start a thread so applicants can support each other through the process! I know I have a million questions already and I am trying hard not to pester admissions.

I am so excited to be almost done with my prerequisites and I am looking forward to finally applying this Fall!

I would love to hear about everyone's background, projects, questions, and hopefully we can help each other out.

Good luck to all! We got this!

I emailed Kenneth today about The letters of recommendation. I have one from a doctor I worked with and one from the director of a place I volunteered at. He told me that those were acceptable for the letters of recommendation!

Specializes in Health Education.

I am confused. I thought we only needed to upload our pre-req transcripts into nursingcas manually? we also have to send our full transcripts there as well??

AHHHH.

I uploaded my prereq transcripts under "Colleges Attended" in my Academic History. Then I manually entered the prereqs and grades under "Transcript Entry". Is that what you mean?

Oh wait, now that I'm reading your comment again, I understand your confusion. My understanding is that they can process and verify transcript uploads, so I don't think we need to mail transcripts in. I didn't.

I'm currently at the Jacksonville campus. I highly recommend putting Gainesville as your choice. The Jacksonville campus is truly awful.

That's worrisome. I also read similar comments from last year's thread. Could you please tell us more? I personally don't think I can choose Gainesville since I have small children in school in Jax, but I would love to know more about your experience. Thank you!

@Twinkleytoes I'd like to know more about your experience too.

Also can you please tell me about how much you pay for this program if you don't mind? I'm trying to figure out the cost for out-of-state living on or off campus.

Thank you :)

The professors don't "teach". They tell you to read the books, look at power points, listen to the posted lectures. And then you get to the exam not prepared because honestly it's pretty much impossible to know 20 chapters of material for 1 exam. And then the majority of the class fails. I would not recommend UF Jax. If you can get in elsewhere in Jax, I would.

After tuition and books, it's around $4,000/ semester

But that's in state tuition.

Can you apply to the Accelerated BSN program (2019) if you do not graduate until May 2019 with a BS? I have completed all the pre reqs.

I'm pretty sure. I would contact Kenneth Wynn just to make sure but I think I recall a few people in my cohort who graduated and then started the program a few days later lol

Thanks. Do you know when in May the program starts I could not find it anywhere on the website?
