Hello!
It's only May but I am already working on getting my ducks in a row for the Post-bacc application. I thought it would be nice to start a thread so applicants can support each other through the process! I know I have a million questions already and I am trying hard not to pester admissions.
I am so excited to be almost done with my prerequisites and I am looking forward to finally applying this Fall!
I would love to hear about everyone's background, projects, questions, and hopefully we can help each other out.
Good luck to all! We got this!
I lived at the district on Kernan in Jax when I did my internship in Florida, and I absolutely loved it! It was a nice area by multiple hospitals, and it was fully furnished with a lot of amenities. Unfortunately, the main hospital in Jax is not in a good area so just make sure to research apartments that are far enough away, but close enough so the drive isn't horrible.
Hi there!
Most of your clinicals will be done at the main hospital which is downtown. But you could still get rotations in other areas such as orange park. A lot of the current students live downtown in Riverside or the San Marco area. As someone mentioned, the main hospital is in a pretty bad area, so definitely try to find somewhere that you personally feel safe (which it seems like Riverside and San Marco are the better areas, closest to the hospital).
I personally live over near the town center and some also live in southside. These are both slightly farther away but I definitely feel safer over here... plus it's closer to destressing activities, like the beach!
:-)
Hi All, Thanks for the discussion.
I am also excited in applying for the 2019 cohort. I am not yet submitted either of the applications. I have my undergraduate degree in India. I am confused about the transcript requirements. Do I need to do a credential evaluation? The post-bac application doesnt tell anything about it. what about CAS?
Hey there! I completed my degrees in France. I did not send in a WES evaluation with my postbacc since UF evaluates degrees. After I submitted my postbacc electronically, they had me send in physical copies of:
Official transcripts from my French university
Certified translations of all transcripts and diplomas
Copies of my diplomas
I also had to send in a TOEFL score (you'll have to check if you need that)
Then for NursingCAS I had to upload unofficial transcripts for my prereqs only, but those were done here in the US.
Call UF to find out exactly what they need for your particular situation. They are super helpful. You will also need your UF ID to send in the material, they can give it to you over the phone 48h after you submit your postbacc application.

I am planning on heading to Jax to check it out
Does anyone have apartment suggestions close to where we would be doing classes and clinicals ? I will have a car but I don't want to commute long, and also I am not sure how bad parking is...
I would
Like to get a head start on researching my options
Thx
