Hello!

It's only May but I am already working on getting my ducks in a row for the Post-bacc application. I thought it would be nice to start a thread so applicants can support each other through the process! I know I have a million questions already and I am trying hard not to pester admissions.

I am so excited to be almost done with my prerequisites and I am looking forward to finally applying this Fall!

I would love to hear about everyone's background, projects, questions, and hopefully we can help each other out.

Good luck to all! We got this!

For anyone who has taken the assessment can you please tell me what it entails? I am abroad right now for winter break and won't have access to a computer...was wondering if it could be taken on an iPad or iPhone? Please let me know!!!

You just basically have to rank things based on how you feel. I wouldn't recommend an iPhone, as it warns you not to but an iPad would definitely work just fine!

Ahhh thank you so much! This is super helpful I was so nervous because I didn't bring my laptop on the trip, but thanks for confirming that an iPad would work just fine :-)

I know it says it should take ~45 mins, did you find it that long?

A little shorter. Maybe 30 minutes max. Some of the items are hard to rank as they are similar so those take a little more time to think about what really relates to you specifically. Glad I could help out! :)

hey everyone! congrats to those who received the assessment.

does anyone know how many assessments are sent out?

I don't think there is a way to see how many assessments got sent out this year.

I am curious as to how many people applied this year. Last year it sounded like they had a lot of applicants.

Hey @futuReNurse199710! Did you ever find out why you didn't receive an assessment? I am in the same boat and am so confused as to why. I emailed Kenneth but have received no response.

Hi there! I never received an assessment and Kenneth did not email me back either... Kind of unprofessional if you ask me, as a friend of mine had a question about her assessment and when she emailed him he answered right away. I guess I am just taking the no reply as a denial :(

SO HAPPY allnurses is back up!!

Hope everyone is having a great New Year and having good luck with applying to their different programs!

Anxiously waiting for decisions to be made! where else has everyone applied? I have applied to UF, UCF, and UNF!

Hey everyone,

I was a ghost reader for a long time and decided to finally comment. So here’s a little bit of my stats. I graduated from UNF with a public health degree and a gpa of ~3.6 (magna cum laude). I’ve only applied to JU and UF ( probably should’ve applied to more schools). My prereq gpa isn’t that great, 3.2. I’m anxiously waiting for decisions and it is very nerve racking. I really hope I get in!

What nursing field would you guys like to work in? I would like to work in obgyn/labor &delivery or surgery

Hello!!

i really hope you get in as well!! JU and UF are both really good programs and I think your grades are fine! it is quite frustrating that some schools only look at grades rather than who you are as a whole ?

and waiting is the worst part of this whole process! it is so very nerve-wracking!

I would LOVE to work in either trauma or pediatrics/NICU ?

Hi, everyone! Another late-comer. I've avoided Allnurses this long to avoid the nerves, but now that we're so close to the results I couldn't help myself! I'm curious about Psych, but I'm mostly excited to get experience in different areas and see what I like (since theory and practice are rarely the same).

A follow-up:
I snooped around last year's thread on Allnurses - seems that last year the results came out on February 23rd! Just means more waiting around than I was hoping for. >.<

I'm a former Gator, so I know Gainesville, but does anyone have recommendations for living arrangements in JAX? I put no preference (while I like Gville, my MAIN preference is to get into this program at all).

I live in Jax and I would definitely not recommend that you live anywhere near the hospital itself! it is quite sketchy down there.

the Riverside area is a nice little area to live in. Mandarin is nice and not super far! but definitely not downtown Jax!

I came here to ask how everyone is dealing with the wait and saw all these new comments! It really helps to read about everyone and know I’m not the only one feeling impatient and a little (a lot) nervous. I try to spare my family from my agonizing over the looooong decision process, so it’s good to have this thread!

Looking back at previous years, I’m thinking Feb 22nd for decisions. Always on a Friday it seems. So that’s my bet!

I’m also wanting to get into L&D!
