I am an undergraduate student at UCF right now and will soon be graduating with my degree in Psychology. I am applying to UF's Accelerated BSN program for Fall 2012.
My first year of college was brutal! My first semester I made 4 Cs and 1 D. My second semester I made 2 Cs and 3 Fs. I had to retake the 3 classes I failed over the summer and I made 3 Cs. So... it has completely ruined my GPA. It seems like no matter how many As I make it barely brings it up.
But, thankfully UF only considers your most RECENT 60 credit hours towards your GPA. This is so great because my overall GPA is only a 2.6, but by the time I'm done taking classes my most recent 60 credit hours GPA will be around a 3.7-3.8.
Is anyone else suffering from a year of bad grades like me?
I wish every other school only considered your most recent 60 credit hours. UF seems like my only real hope to be accepted, but at the same time it's UF... not the easiest school to get into.
Thanks guys! I don't plan on it. I really believe I should be a part of the program.. although I am sure everyone thinks that! I live by the Oaks Mall!
In all seriousness though, I don't post because I just have not had the time to monitor this site the way I have in the past. However, I do check in from time to time to see what is being posted. :)
No letter for me today, either! Sorry to hear of the first letters of non-acceptance - wonder why they came today? I'll be waiting at the mailbox tomorrow, for sure!
Mine didn't come either :-/ I live behind butler plaza in Gainesville. I spoke with my mailman and he said though it doesn't usually happen, sometimes "packets" may take a little longer....keeping my fingers crossed!
I got a call from Ken today too about my transcripts. Apparently because they were under my maiden name they got misplaced. Luckily they had them and will post shortly. Ken told me the same thing about updating my status. I would really hope they wouldn't call about those things just to shoot us down in the end..

Mine were not even under my maiden name. And I got a cashier's check so there is no way for me to know if they got the money. I'm going to SFC to ask them for my transcripts tomorrow and hopefully they can give them to me the same day. I already filled out another application and then I'm going to have to pay another application fee, which is not a big deal but it would be nice to know that I'm not doing all this for nothing:/
I don't really understand why they are having you do this after the letters are out... You must be accepted or else what is the point? It seems strange you weren't contacted about this earlier...
