UF Accelerated BSN Fall 2012

Published

HI:)

I am an undergraduate student at UCF right now and will soon be graduating with my degree in Psychology. I am applying to UF's Accelerated BSN program for Fall 2012.

My first year of college was brutal! My first semester I made 4 Cs and 1 D. My second semester I made 2 Cs and 3 Fs. I had to retake the 3 classes I failed over the summer and I made 3 Cs. So... it has completely ruined my GPA. It seems like no matter how many As I make it barely brings it up.

But, thankfully UF only considers your most RECENT 60 credit hours towards your GPA. This is so great because my overall GPA is only a 2.6, but by the time I'm done taking classes my most recent 60 credit hours GPA will be around a 3.7-3.8.

Is anyone else suffering from a year of bad grades like me?

I wish every other school only considered your most recent 60 credit hours. UF seems like my only real hope to be accepted, but at the same time it's UF... not the easiest school to get into.

Ken told me last week that he couldn't find my UF app along with the transcripts and the payment. He had me send him my unofficial transcripts and asked me to wait until I heard back from him to do anything else. Maybe they can't offcially reject me without having my application lol. Idk but I'm not getting my hopes up. I got overly excited about the phone call today thinking I got in and almost cried LOL! Just to hear that... So I'm just going to assume I didn't get in for now and think that maybe they need to make it official...

Alright, friends...help me get through another work day! Hoping for some acceptance letters in Gainesville today!!

Let's hope! I'm wondering if they got sent to permanent addresses and that's why its taking a little longer.

The letter should be sent to the address that you listed on the data sheet we filled out online when applying. I sent an email and asked last week :)

Has anyone found out yet whether the acceptance letters are letters or packets?

I am pretty sure that Ken told poodle5 to expect an "admissions packet" in the next couple days, so I am almost positive we should be hoping for packets in our mailboxes

yesterday when I got home there was a single letter in my mailbox and it majorly freaked me out, I have never been so happy to see a letter from the DMV haha

I'm pretty sure you're right, uf4thewin...at least, that's where I got it in my head we'd be looking for a packet

just checked the mail. all i got was a bunch of coupons....

So I guess we might be looking at another day of waiting... Where do you live Marta?

i wish there was a way that we could check online whether or not we got in...

The mailman just came...no letter. I am starting to believe that not all of the letters were mailed on Friday, there is no way it could take this long. This has been such a frustrating process and I'm really disappointed that the school waited so long to review our applications when the deadline was months ago.
