2014 UF Accelerated BSN Applicants

Published

Hey y'all! Who's applying to UF's ABSN program? Go Gators! :)

Sorry to hear that MYarr. :(

I've been wait-listed. I know it's not the worst but I still feel devastated...I hope there is a spot, I've been wanting this for so long.

I've been wait-listed. I know it's not the worst but I still feel devastated...I hope there is a spot, I've been wanting this for so long.

I hope so too! Wishing you luck!

Has anyone else been wait listed? I should've asked how long it was

deejgator- my friend got in last year and she was wait-listed.

Thank you for your positivity. I wish you guys all the best and for those who still don't know, good luck as well!

The waiting game has been extended for me, but I will continue to be hopeful.

Hey everyone! I got a letter today that said I'm conditionally accepted? Did anyone else get that on their letter?

I can't believe we have to respond by march 17th! That's so soon!

Also, does anyone have any idea how much tuition + living expenses would be? I've searched everywhere on the site, but there doesn't seem to be a conclusive number.

I think everyone is conditionally accepted until we provide the background check and immunization records. At least that's what it seems to say in the letter.

First off, congrats to everyone getting accepted! For those waitlisted, many of the students currently in the program with me were initially waitlisted, so don't lose hope! I'm still surviving off of Florida Pre-Paid but I think I heard somewhere that the program is approx $20k, but don't quote me on that. Anyone have any questions for a current ABSN?

And yes, everyone will be "conditionally accepted". Just maintain your GPA in your last classes and submit your background check and immunizations and you're good to go!

MYarr, I didn't get in either, but am petitioning. You should petition as well! If it doesn't work out, there's always next year :)

Here is the website that shows you cost of attendance: Fall 2013 Students for the 2013-14 Academic Year » Finance and Accounting » University of Florida. Basically, undergrad classes cost $208.77/credit hour (this figure includes fees and tuition). We are taking 53 credit hours of undergrad ($208.77 x 53 = $11,064.81), and we are also taking 6 hours of graduate level courses, which are $526.75/credit hour ($526.75 x 6 = $3,160.50). I was told by the financial aid person at CON that we can expect to pay between $700 - $1,000 the first semester for books, then $200 - $300 per semester after that. So, total that up and we have:

$11,064.81 + $3,160.50 + $1,000 + $300 + $300 + $300 + $300 = $16,425.31. I don't know if we have to pay anything for clinical hours. And of course we'll need supplies: stethoscope, scrubs, etc. All in all, not bad for a bachelor's degree!
