UCSF New Grad RN 2015

Published

Hey everyone!

I noticed there wasn't a thread for people to discuss upcoming interviews for UCSF New Grad RN program.

I'm interviewing for the ICN on 9/2. Does anyone have any insights into the interview process or have anything else they want to discuss?

Megora, yes guess we will see :-)

M_RN, one of mine now says completed.

Hey Everyone!

For those of you who get in to UCSF's new grad program, I made a FB group for us to stay connected. Look up "UCSF New Grad RN's 2015"

For those of you who received offers over the phone, did they expect an answer immediately or give you more information and time to think it over?

Sun runner and M RN, if you don't mind, will you share what units you received offers from? Thanks and congratulations!

The units I interviewed with haven't decided yet, but I know they will be making calls at different times. I'm just wondering if there is a standard process the managers follow when it comes to making offers. Can't hurt to be prepared.

Hello!I heard from the ICN on Thursday the 3rd by phone. I verbally accepted right away and received the pre-employment process email later that day.

I received an offer on Thursday 9/3 for the birthing unit. They gave me some information over the phone as to when it will start and what would be the next steps before the start of the program. I accepted immediately before they could even give me an option to think it over. Now I am currently waiting for HR to contact me for references and to do other background screenings...

I couldn't find it!!!! :/

@Megora_BSN , @M_RN , and all others who have submitted references -

How many references did you provide, and has the status of all of your references been "completed"?

I submitted references about 1 week ago, but not all of them has been completed yet.

I don't know if it has anything to do the Labor Day weekend, but I am worried :(

I provided 6 just to be safe. They are all completed now, but I was pretty relentless with my reminders.

@M_RN - Thanks for replying back. How long did it take for all your references to be completed? And were they all completed before or after your second interview?

It's been 1 week and I've sent two reminder emails to my references so far, but haven't heard back. I'm thinking of contacting them again, but don't want to pester them. How many reminders did you send out to each of your references? And were they by emails or phone? And how did you remind them without sounding demanding or annoying? Your input would be extremely helpful!
