UCSF New Grad RN 2015

Published

Hey everyone!

I noticed there wasn't a thread for people to discuss upcoming interviews for UCSF New Grad RN program.

I'm interviewing for the ICN on 9/2. Does anyone have any insights into the interview process or have anything else they want to discuss?

Hi HConway214

I was also wondering what the interview process looks like. All the person on the phone told me was that it will be 4-5 people interviewing us. I have an interview for the ICN on September 1st :)

How are you preparing for it? Good luck to all of us!!

Specializes in Critical Care.

I'm hoping I get a call too! I only applied for the adult positions (no peds). Has anyone heard back from the adult units? My status still says "applied"

I'm wondering if the online status is even updated to reflect any changes.

My status didn't change when I got called.

@nicurn- thank you for saying 4-5 people. I wasn't told that. I'm just thinking of answers to possible questions.

Just so everyone knows, this thread isn't just about the ICN, that just happens to be the unit I'm interviewing in :)

is there a current tally of which units have been calling applicants for interviews so far??!! I've only heard about ppl called for the icn and picu. Has anyone heard about other units?

I received a call last Friday to schedule an interview at the PACU....had my interview yesterday, 8/19.... 4 people total interviewed me. The main guy started off with giving some background info about the unit an the hospital, then went into the interview part...they have a set list of questions that they ask all the candidates they have so everyone have the same questions

Was it mostly behavioral?

I would say most of them were

It's only one round right? I heard it used to be two.

Hi Everyone!

I am glad I found this thread. I just received a call for an interview for the Pediatric Cardiac/ICU unit scheduled for next week on the 25th. For those of you who interviewed already, was there any mention for how many rounds of interviews? Or is it just one interview (panel style) and they base the decisions from there? Thanks for any advice!

I know from a person who got a position in the ICN 2 years ago that it was a panel interview, followed by a short tour of the unit and talk with the manager. Things could have changed tho.

I'm so excited for all of us :)

Hi Bay_RN, I am interviewing the 25th also, my appointment is at 3pm. Is that the same time you were scheduled? I didn't think to ask if it would be a group interview, but I would be curious to know.
