UCSF New Grad RN 2015

Published

Hey everyone!

I noticed there wasn't a thread for people to discuss upcoming interviews for UCSF New Grad RN program.

I'm interviewing for the ICN on 9/2. Does anyone have any insights into the interview process or have anything else they want to discuss?

heard from birth center today to schedule an interview!!! the manager said they are scheduling interviews this week or next!!!! :) :)

Hconway214 I was told they were interviewing about 20 people and would have a decision in 3 weeks, it's going to be a long 3 weeks!

Ahhh I hope not every unit is 3 weeks!!! That's forever!

I just got a call this morning from Cardiac ICU, I believe for adults. I couldn't hear clearly the name of the manager so if anyone also got a call from Cardiac ICU, please let me know! Interviews are being scheduled 2-3 weeks away and the slots were still open so I believe many calls are still to be made. No need to bring resumes and there will be a panel of 3-4 interviewers.

sorry accidentally double posted!

Has anyone been called to interview for multiple units? I got a second call today and while I am excited I hope it doesn't hurt my chances with either unit.

I'm interviewing with every unit that asks me to. It shouldn't hurt your chances to interview in more than one unit. If interviewing with another unit does hurt your chances with one of them, you're better off not working in the offended unit anyway. It's tough to land that first nursing job. A manager shouldn't fault us for pursuing all of our options.

I received a call tonight at six pm for an interview at Mission Bay next Friday. I am slightly freaked out because I applied to several units and not sure which one I got called for. I was at the Target and it was super loud. I even asked her to repeat and all I heard was surgical. I applied to a surgical oncology unit and a couple of adult med/surg floors, but when I go back and click on the positions for which I applied, I get redirected to my own application. I received an email with directions but it still doesn't say which unit. I can't ask again and I hate the idea of walking into the interview not knowing the unit. I tried going back to the job listings but they have been removed, so I can't tell which of the positions were at the Mission Bay campus. Any ideas on how to find out would be greatly appreciated. I tried googling the units and even looked up the interviewers on linkedin, but all it says is that they are assistant patient care managers at UCSF, no unit specified. Thank you in advance!

So after a ton of googling, I am pretty confident that it is for the surgical oncology unit, which is like my dream job...

If anyone applied to Pediatric Med Surg and is wondering if calls for interviews are being made, I received a call for an interview on 8/19. My interview is scheduled for 9/2.

I also got called for acute surgical at MB, pretty sure it's surgical oncology like you said. Good luck!

Good luck to you as well Bayside RN! When is your interview? And may I ask if you precepted at UCSF?
