UCSF New Grad Program 2023 Questions

Hello all, 

I am at the last semester of the ABSN program at Samuel Merritt. I'm expecting to graduate in early Jan and plan to take the NCLEX early Feb and no later than late Feb. I would like to know the timeline for applying to UCSF's nursing new grad Spring program 2023. Any past experiences with UCSF to share will be greatly appreciated.

I got a call from adult medicine today. Adult medicine was in my top 3 - still haven't heard from peds. 

 interviewing next week. Keep your phone on. I thought mine was going to be an email, cause that's how a few ppl in my cohort were contacted.

I emailed a Recruiter to ask but wanted to double check if those references are supposed to be in letter format or if they just want contact info for our references? your references will be sent a survey, which needs to be completed within 24 hours. I'd start giving a heads up now.

ICN just sent out a spreadsheet of the people chosen to interview for the next round! wow there's like 53 of us on there ?

Thank you so much for the helpful info! Apart from the Unit Director there were four other nurses/assistant directors. I was a bit thrown off because I thought that it would be just me interviewing but there was one other candidate there too. I won't say the exact questions we got but I will say there were 5 behavioral questions (one of which was the general intro about yourself) and only 1 clinical scenario based question. The clinical scenario question was very vague but safety oriented and I feel like I should have added more about how I would have assessed the patient. But we'll see!

Thanks for sharing all that! I have an interview next week, and they didn't mention any other candidate. Just curious - if you go back to your email now, do you see the other candidates name?

That is a LOT more than I expected! It could be same for all these departments throwing interview at us ?

Are you talking about zoom link they posted? How many UCSF interviewers are cc'd? if you don't mind me asking

I know! And it sounded like there will be another round after that one 

 

quick question, how do we rsvp for that meeting ? Should we just respond to the email ?
