Hello all,
I am at the last semester of the ABSN program at Samuel Merritt. I'm expecting to graduate in early Jan and plan to take the NCLEX early Feb and no later than late Feb. I would like to know the timeline for applying to UCSF's nursing new grad Spring program 2023. Any past experiences with UCSF to share will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for the helpful info! Apart from the Unit Director there were four other nurses/assistant directors. I was a bit thrown off because I thought that it would be just me interviewing but there was one other candidate there too. I won't say the exact questions we got but I will say there were 5 behavioral questions (one of which was the general intro about yourself) and only 1 clinical scenario based question. The clinical scenario question was very vague but safety oriented and I feel like I should have added more about how I would have assessed the patient. But we'll see!
Thank you for the insignt ? I am sure you did well. And this was over the zoom right? I have panel of 9 interviewing me and they are all from UCSF... I wonder if there will be other candidates but I did not see anyone invited in the same meeting. Does this sound similar to your case as well?

Thank you ?! Yes over Zoom. I would say that having another candidate there is not the worst because they alternated asking us each question and when I answered second I had a bit more time to think about my response!

This was my case during the initial interview with HR. But I found out if the other candidates are super good....(Which happened during my interview with Stanford andddd I bombed LOL) it was too much pressure for me to handle hahah
I hope we all get invited to the cohort and meet each other in person!! that would be so awesome ?
H-Q said:Hello aspiring UCSF-ers! I had a unit interview this week and it sounds like they might ask for references next week. I emailed a Recruiter to ask but wanted to double check if those references are supposed to be in letter format or if they just want contact info for our references? It was unclear to me from the website. Thanks for sharing if anybody knows!
That's awesome! What unit was it for?

It can be from your previous work, coworker, manager too. Unless they specifically request references for your healthcare related abilities!
But I would recommend get them beforehand so that when they ask you can copy and paste, then submit right away! I believe they give you 24 hours to enter those 5 references and they are pretty strict about that.

5 references as in we'll need 5 letters of recs? or just provide them 5 people that they can further contact?
