Hi everyone, I just wanted to start this new topic for those like myself who are interested in applying to the MEPN program for the 2020 cohort.

I began my application a couple weeks ago. I don't know why I feel nervous completing this application but for some reason I do. I will be applying to CNM/WHNP track. Has anyone else applied perviously to this cohort?
Good luck everyone!!

hi @Marin520! I'm also applying to that track. how did you choose!? nice to meet a fellow cnm applicant ?
@NMtobeHi! Nice to meet you too! I have been a full-spectrum doula for just over three years. I volunteer at SF General doula program and I am one of their coordinators for the program. It has been my dream to be a midwife for a couple years now, I just finished prepreqs this past spring finally. How did you chose? what is your background?
Hi everyone,
Resharing this Prezi presentation that someone posted previously. It's prepared by Sergio Saenz, Director of Outreach and Recruitment, from UCSF. This was publicly presented to students interested in applying to UCSF so I'm more than positive that it is alright (and equitable, I should add) that we all have access to this:

I've finished my essays and am now just fine-tuning them before I submit. I'm applying for AGPCNP - hope to meet/see others who're also applying to this specialty! Good luck all!
Just now, kmd1005 said:@PsychNPWA welcome! curious, are you also apply to seattle u's programs ? I'm applying there as well as OHSU, Columbia ?
I'm not though Seattle U is how I found out about DE programs. I would loveeee to stay in Seattle but SU requires all pre-requisites to be complete by the time you apply and I have microbio and A&P2 to finish in the fall. UCSF and OHSU are top picks for me as well!
Just now, Anisap said:Good luck!!!!!! Are you applying for the Psych specialty? As in your username?
Yep! After creating the username, I realized it's a bit misleading and probably bad karma to write out as though I already were a PMHNP but c'est la vie. I'm a hopeful pmhnp! How about you?
I'm trying to put together some volunteer and shadowing experiences together before hitting "submit" on my application. Is anyone else worried about this aspect? Was anyone successful finding someone to shadow? I'm not originally from WA so all my contacts are across the country and it's been a beast to try to get someone to let me shadow! Would love anyone's input on whether it's even important to how/if you found success finding an NP to shadow.

@Marin520 that's great! I've heard great things about the program ? I'm also a doula but am full time social worker looking to transition into a different career. I'm finishing prereqs this year and hoping to give it a shot! UCSF is such a competitive program though so I'm just going to cross my fingers and see!
@NMtobe, thats awesome! I am coordinator for the postpartum doula program so if you're interested on getting more hands-on hospital experience let me know and I can you get more information. Best of luck to you that is awesome you are a social worker. Best of luck of finishing up prereqs!

Hi @Haron717 yes they will take the higher grade if you repeated a course (been there done that too lol). As far as picking which specialty to choose, it's understandable if some folks aren't sure which ones, but i went with my specialty(AGNP-OEHN) because i'm interested in occupational/environmental health and i have a few years up my sleeve in the field. I'd go with the specialty that interests you and catches your attention (as well as what you see yourself being passionate about), but some folks choose to pick a field that it's demand too - your choice ultimately ?
@Anisap still working on my personal statement i'm nowhere near finished ?
